The latest news from MPH.

Post by ann3120 » Sun Mar 12, 2006 10:00 pm

Well . . . . . it's been a very long time since your "old" friend, Mrs. Annie Purple Hat has posted anything to the WL forum, and that is because I've been very busy and that means almost too busy to play WL as well - and that's bad ! ! ! ! !

We finally made the big decision to sell our house - the one over the road from the alligator lake - and the sale went through last week, and we are now living in our 5th-wheel travel trailer (for the UK/Others group, that means a very, very large caravan) and we are getting ready to start our travels. Our plans were severely interrupted 2 1/2 years ago when my husband had to have multiple knee replacement/revision surgeries, but that is now behind us, and although his knee will never be as good as we would like, he's OK and we hope to see a bit of the US before we find that "perfect" place that we are both looking for - yeah, right ! ! ! ! ! Good luck to both of us - I'm a Brit and he's from the West Texas desert. You really think there's the slightest chance of us agreeing ? ? ? ? I don't, but it might be fun looking.

I'll tell you one bad thing about packing up to move - no, actually it's going to be two bad things. One - once the computer was dismantled and all packed away, there was nothing to do. I had no good excuses about checking my mail, and paying the bills (yeah, right - that's an easy one to see through, isn't it??) and I was forced to try my hand at re-arranging. Do you know - it had been so long, I'd almost forgotten how to do it. Unfortunately I remembered just in time, and the owners got a clean house to move in to.

The second bad thing, about going on the road. Sometime this week I will be removed, screaming and struggling, from my cable/broadband internet connection. We'll have to go back to slo-o-ow old dial-up, and that will totally cramp my style. I certainly won't be able to play and comment on the levels - so all you level-makers, even if I can't finish them, you must know how much I appreciate all your hard and creative work. Hopefully I'll be able to download monthly from Mette's website and play offline. I will try and check in once in a while - we hope to be WiFi compatible, which will make it a bit easier. No waiting in line to plug in to a phone line.

The place we are parked in will be ours when we come back to South Texas in October or November for the winter. This year we plan to travel east to Georgia to visit with family and some friends, and then I want to explore North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky, and then after the winter down here, next year we'll probably head west to California and up to Oregon. Those are my plans, anyway. Not sure where he's going.

It takes a bit of getting used to, living full time in an RV. At least it's a big one. We did it 3 years ago, but somehow I've forgotten all the details. We do have a storage unit - with air conditioning - to store all the "stuff" that one of us just couldn't quite handle getting rid of. We'll just have to hope that the building is strong enough to withstand any hurricanes that come this way. At least we have wheels, and should be able to stay away from really severe weather. No snow in the winter (although I would really like just a bit) and not too much heat, I hope, in the summer.

We'll just have to see how we get along, and how much we enjoy the nomad life style. Now - if only they came with flippers, I would head out over the open waters back to that little island floating somewhere to the east of Auntie Mo.

Hugs to you all - and I'll check in when ever I get a chance.

Hope you enjoy your new "house!" You'll have to let us know how things are going from time to time!
If you want to be somebody, if you want to go somewhere, you have to wake up and pay attention.

My dear MPH,

How wonderfully exciting for you and Bill but there's such a tinge of sadness too. I will miss reading all your fabulous posts, maybe you can find time to write that book now. 8)

No matter where your travels take you, I know there will always be a wee note for me and that's something to look forward to.

The RV looks great, nice and cosy. Wonder if it could sail the Atlantic?

You know where I am Annie, the welcome mat is always out.

Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us, we know what a very special lady our MPH is. :D
