Post any Lateral Thinking Questions here!

Post by HelloWorld »

Yes, I know it might sound similar to riddles, but really Lateral Thinking is completely different.

Here's a few.

1. What famous expression is this?

S76087689A769869F69869E79769697T6798769Y79

2. In five years time, I will be three times as old as I was 3 years ago, how old am I now?

3. Which month has 29 days in a leap year?

4. Which statement is true out of the following?

One statement here is false.
Two statements here are false.
Three statements here are false.

5. A man is awake night after night without getting a wink of sleep, yet he doesn't feel tired. Why?

6. Which word do people in Scotland do people always pronounce hesitantly?

7. In which month are fewest daily newspapers sold?

8. At midnight it is raining hard. How probable is it that it will be sunny in 72 hours' time?

9. How can Princess Sophia be a one-year-old and nine months old at the same time?

10. On holiday in the Pyrennees, Stuart and Matt are skiing down the mountainside when suddenly an avalanche strikes. Stuart is nearly saved, but Matt is nearly buried under the snow. Who is the more greatful?

Enjoy!

here's a few:

1.Subtract Five

How many times can you subtract 5 from the number 25?

2.Three Fishing Poles

One day, two fathers and two sons went shopping for fishing poles. Their shopping spree was successful. Each bought a fishing pole and all together they had three fishing poles. How is this possible?

3.The Boat Ladder

The rope ladder of a boat hangs over the side of the boat and just touches the water. The ladder rungs are 8 inches apart. How many rungs will be under the water when the tide rises 3.5 feet?

after you subtract 5 from 25 once, it's 20. the second 5 you subtract would be subtracted from the 20 that was left. so after you subtract 5 from 25 once the number you're subtracting from is no longer 25.

~~here's a few more~~

1. A woman gave natural birth to two sons who were born on the same hour of the same day of the same month of the same year. But they were not twins and she had no access to a time machine. How could this be?

2. A police officer saw a truck driver clearly going the wrong way down a one-way street, but did not try to stop him. Why not?

3. Two boxers are in a boxing match (regular boxing, not kick boxing). The fight is scheduled for 12 rounds but ends after 6 rounds, after one boxer knocks out the other boxer. Yet no man throws a punch. How is this possible?

1. The two sons are two of three triplets (I didn't see the answer you put before I first answered).
2. The truck driver was walking, not driving a truck.
3. The boxers are women.
