Floing Orb in South of Kaboom! Village
Floing Orb in South of Kaboom! Village
Desmond (age eight) asks:
When you're in Kaboom! village, if you have a spy eye, go south and look around really far down. You'll find an island. On it is a floing orb. How do I get to it?

Huh! I wondered what that button was for. I shall have to go a wandering and see what it does.
EDIT.
Ok, been for a wander. I've seen what it does but can't get to it in time before it runs out. Am I supposed to have someone/thing to help me, and if so do I have to have done certain things first because I can't find anyone/thing to help me apart from a crab sitting on a bit of beach I can't reach.

Easier than I thought. I clicked to move off the timer just before he stood on it so he did a u-turn after briefly stepping on it and made it to the 'thing' in time. I did think I was stuck there till I had a walk round.
I'm walking around looking for levels I've missed now. Having a spot of trouble in Flipping Hot in the volcano. Have managed to get to every bit except the one with the gems and buttons. Shouldn't be talking about it here though should I? I'd better shut up.

popo, don't know if you've noticed but when you stand on certain kinds of timer buttons, the timer doesn't start unwinding until AFTER you step off, so the U-turn was a coincidence. You can actually stand on the buttton forever and it would've stayed turned on.
(Comes in handy when you need to keep a gate open and have an extra helper around, too.
)
My experience was it was easier to make the run when a certain someone was not sitting in front of his door. But, once you've followed him away and he returns, there's no way to get him to move again, so that's just a one time thing. If he's already returned, your shot at that method is over.

Strange thing is, I had already being trying that and I was always too late, but when I tried the u-turn it worked. Might have just been a fluke though.Loirae wrote:popo, don't know if you've noticed but when you stand on certain kinds of timer buttons, the timer doesn't start unwinding until AFTER you step off, so the U-turn was a coincidence. I found this quite easy.
You don't need the keyboard, but clicking the mouse to the location wouldn't immediately take you there, because the game has to find the fastest way to actually get there, and it doesn't have as much intelligence as we have. The U-turn works perfectly, of course.
I also noticed that strange thing with the timer button. Is it a bug, or is it intended? I don't think it's intended, because now it's a super button (circle + timer).

Now, I found it easy to get back as well, but that's because I have a lot of knowledge about the editor, and so, like to try stepping on any square that might seem interesting, because there could be a command button hidden there.

Thanks Guinevere but for some reason I am having a really hard time with this one. No matter whether I use the mouse/keyboard or both I seem to arrive a bit late. I'm thinking that Popo's u-turn would do the trick but I must not be doing it right since I still get there late. I think this game if frying my brain!!

Sorry I can't tell you exactly how to do the u-turn because I only had to do it once. All I can say is I clicked on the timer and just as he was about to step on it I clicked to the left of the house, so he momentarily stepped on the timer and walked straight off it again. Then as he was walking to the left of the house I clicked behind the house where the teleporter is, and he went straight round and entered it.
It may have been the subsequent movements from the timer that did the trick and not the u-turn at all, because as Loirae pointed out, the timer doesn't start until you get off it.
I used the mouse to move and didn't wait for him to stop before clicking further round, that way there's no delay and he automatically goes the shortest distance.
Sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks to everyone for all the help--have not gotten to try yet since I have to work today
I do know how to move diagonal with the keyboard but thought it would be easier to use mouse since it should only be 2 clicks (I think??). I have also tried combo of mouse first and then keyboard with the same lack of success!! I think I am just seriously finger challenged but I will keep at it since this is my last floing orb and I need a serious break from those levels on Sundog
