Here's the happy scene in my garden pond today! Couldn't resist sharing with you lot.

On waking this morning, John said. "Paddy has turned the wrong side of the stone up, get ready for more bad weather."

The wind howled and the rain took no time in coming down.

This afternoon, Paddy must have changed his mind. The stone has been turned the other way and we are enjoying some glorious sunshine.

Happy St. Patrick's Day from the Emerald Isle.

We're having one of those 'no weather' days today. No wind, no sun, just grey, grey, grey. :(

Sunny and chilly (30) in upstate NY. Still a healthy amount of snow on the ground.
About 4 feet of snow in my front yard (gets no sun there), but only about
2 inches in the back yard.

Hi all,

I came home for lunch to discover this thread. Thanks for starting it Liz. It gives me something to look forward to....Although the first day of Spring is officially Sunday, and the sun is shining and we have crystal blue skies today, it is deceiving. I went outside very early this morning and it was 21 degrees...Brrrrrr. It is about 40 right now but it is going to drop down again this evening. Anyone who knows about the Northeastern portion of the states knows that we can still have freezing weather and snow in May and June up here. So, I don't get too excited when the birds are chirping and the sun is shining. I have learned by trial and error not to plant anything until June. I love the picture Liz...Very funny. And by the look of those sacks you are going to be in for it in a few weeks. OMG...that is a lot of potential froggies.

Thanks for making me smile Liz...I really needed it :D

Hmmm....Am I to comment on the frogs or the weather?

I hate frogs, we had an overly large population at the lake a couple of years ago and it was icky! You would step on them, sit on them, lift up the grill and find them inside, they were squished all over the roads, stuck to the windows, inside the jet skis.......hasn't happened since then and I hope it doesn't ever again! Of course the kids loved it!

The weather here today is surprisingly beautiful. 32F. Sunny. The snow and wind that was forecast has decided to stay in Iowa! We still have an abundance of snow on the ground, we are hoping for a nice slow melt as to not encourage flooding from our friendly Red River.

I was to the eye Doctor this AM and had drops in my eyes to dilate them.....oh my, I could use a little less sun today.

Sorry for the confusion, JG.

I saw the comments here on the emergence of spring and thought of you in GF
and your recent comment on forecast of another 6" of snow on the way.

Didn't really mean about the frogs. But that's fine.

BTW, glad to hear the snow has decided to stay in Iowa.

I second that...I am so sick of the snow...

And, JG we had a problem with frogs a number of years ago...same thing...they were everywhere...What a mess.

Well, Hello Everybody.

Liz, I would love to have your pond with all the froggies. I always think things like that are fascinating. We have lots of little green tree frogs with enormously loud chirpy voices, and bull frogs that sound like the wind thrumming through the overhead wires.

Weather? Like Cat in GA - last Sunday it was 84F and yesterday it was in the low 50s with a wicked north wind. Not so cold for some of you, but a bit nippy after last weekend. Today we have blue skies and abundant sunshine, temps in the mid 60s. Gorgeous. That's OK. You can sigh and be envious. Wait until the summer, you might not be so keen then ! ! ! ! !
