Winter wonderland
Just wondering how all you northerns are doing in the cold cold depths of January? Remembering my last winter up there and am busy
congratulating myself on getting back to reasonable weather. I was kicked out of Vermont for being a traitor to my native state.
May hit 100 today and have had to turn the swamp cooler on for the first time this summer. Xmas was a balmy 68. Are you jealous yet?
Heres hope all your nether regions are adequately covered!!!!

I'm with you Laura. We had a good snow the week before Christmas and haven't seen anything else since. I remember growing up and it snowed a lot. Now it is mainly ice if we get anything at all. Totally bites. Temps aren't too bad here, in the mid 50's at times. Nights still get cold but it's supposed to without the sun

If you want to be somebody, if you want to go somewhere, you have to wake up and pay attention.

Chestnuts are in short supply at the best of times around here. I thought they were roasted on a grill tho? Only took me one xmas to get use to the idea of shrimp on the barbbie . Nice to go for a swim in the ocean after too. I grew up in Vermont USA and while I do miss the Maples and syrup
I have to say I don't miss the snow or the cold, my bones sure appreciate
the warmth.

Hi there Mossycat,
Up here in the North Dakota, USA, it is a balmy 34F. No wind, which makes it a perfect evening. We only have about 4 inches of snow on the ground right now. We've had an odd winter so far, more fog and freezing drizzle than snow. We haven't had any below zero days yet, but we've still got a long way to go until spring.
Enjoy your "summer" and dip your toes in the ocean for me.

Haven't tried shrimp and beer but I do love shrimp & garlic simmered in
a little white wine with pasta and more garlic and snow peas with garlic on the side. Perhaps that's why I'm single, never found anyone to share my
garlic habit with except my ex ( which wasn't do to garlic but to chili. Some lines shouldn't be crossed!!!)
Will certainly dip the toes for you, do you prefer ocean or slightly warmer
estuary water?
