Hmm. Tubes with different colored arrows on them. Maybe buttons control these tubes?

I think you're right. Notice how the green ones are lit up and the yellow one and red one aren't.

No, not really. He thought they were one way doors. Technos simply says that maybe buttons do something to the "direction" of these tubes.

I'm pretty sure buttons turn the tubes on and off, not change their direction.

I think that it is something to do with indigo magic.
It could also be a force field, or slide.

Maybe indigo magic could switch their direction?

Unless it turns out that the Xyzzy is an ANTI ENEMY SPAWNER!
Or.... maybe not.
Speaking of Xyzzys, I wonder if its actual function will be introduced in WA3?

CHA-CHING! already said in MoFI that it acted like an infinite Blink.
Or DID he? DUN DUN DAAAH!
I'm thinking, You might be able to buy the Xyzzy anyways...
Although that would probably ruin Blink FOREVER!

CHA-CHING! never mentioned spellballs, just teleportation. Mabye it could work kinda like WA's rainbow shards.

So how did Moosejaw own a Xyzzy in WA1 if the shards were elsewhere?
yot yot5 wrote:CHA-CHING! This is getting a bit far-fetched...
Only a bit?
Well, here's what I think the Xyzzy is and what it does:
The Xyzzy is an ancient artifact built by seven Z-Bots in Great Great Great Grandfather Morklin's basement 20,000 years ago. The Xyzzy is a large gem made of diamonds, fallen stars, asbestos, toasters, rocks, Mr. Zurkon, bookcases, and luminescent ducks. In the game, the Xyzzy will allow you to switch the gameplay to a First Person Shooter where the screen constantly flashes purple and the trees dance. Also, your gun is a leaf blower.
... What? My theory has just as much evidence supporting it as everyone else's speculation.

[Insert CHA-CHING here]
YES. Just YES.
If patrick adds this to the game, Then it shall be an INSTANT PRODUCT all over the world. And then... WA will finally have... WORLD DOMINATION!

The Xyzzy is some reference to some old game, as well as Grues. It was mentioned in the Midnight Post sometime, I forgot which issue. The Xyzzy's name refers to the 3 coordinates we commonly use. Why am I writing in Italics?
It also takes an appearance chosen randomly from the following: a chomper, a gem, a toaster, a stinker, the Void, Mr. Zurkon, and Rock1.
Oh, and Derp, WA obviously stands for World Assimilation. You guys didn't know that?
P.S. Wonderland is actually a giant mutated cash register.

SSSHHH!!! You'll summon the cash register's minions! No one likes explosive coins!
But seriously, the Xyzzy is a reference to some old game, that's all.

Well, it was actually stated to be teleportation related, but I'm 98.190% sure that it's not going to be appearing as anything other than a classic game reference.

It was teleportation related in the original game, if I recall.

Found a wikipedia page on it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xyzzy
Its from a text adventure called "Colossal Cave Adventure." Typing in Xyzzy would teleport you from "inside building" to "debris room."
Check out the game's page too, it seems like it has some notable things.
EDIT: Happy 48th page.

It seems Grue is mentioned in some game called "Zork," a text adventure as well. There is a wiki page for the monsters called Grues.
Zork wrote:The grue is a sinister, lurking presence in the dark places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.
Sounds...erm..friendly..
