I said "I can see it out" not "it will be out". :roll:

Just saying, this thing is gonna be out with 4 cutscenes, 4 levels, a boss, a ally(in level that helps you out) new elements in evrey level, new background in evrey level, 20 green apples, a diffrent song in each level, plus at least 2 more songs(99% chance more) hub, shop with MINUMUM 5 upgrade paths, the ability to use a chaingun when it's found, and lets see here...jump, move, double jump, wall hang, charge jump, starple, charge starple, wall jump, flip, "secret move"(it's left unmentioned so you have at least a bit of a surpise), d-smash, slide...that's 11 moves. From the start. This thing has a lot of content, and it's only demo 1. Give me time...I'm a slow worker anyway. :x

Hold on a sec. How about I let out demo "0.5" with what I have today? If I get a reply today, and I go back on today. I'm actually doing homework for once! :lol:

I got out of school last Thursday. *shot*

I would like to see a release soon. All Kooky's games get too hard for me really fast.

Here's what I have so far. Call it demo 0.5.
Due to lazyness, I haven't removed the testing "cheats". You'd need them anyway since there's no save made yet.

Testing Cheats:
Use mouse wheel to scroll through rooms. You can acsess a bit of the pod minigame. I haven't added that you can use the extra weapons even though they are programed.
Click on Shaman to warp to the exit.

A lot of stuff i not added yet, but it's still fun to play. Enjoy! :D

Wall jump is a bit too tricky, but other than that, good.

I never had any trouble wall jumping. What part is hard? In case you didn't realise this, you can use a double jump while wall jumping to get higher. It resets your double jump evrey time you jump off.

I figured that out, but it was hard to rapidly change which key you are holding pressed from left to right while jumping from one wall to the other, especially in narrow vertical passages.

It's supposed to be hard to swap quickly in those narrow passages. :P

Try having one finger on each direction.

Have you tried to get the green apple above the bombs in The Cave? :twisted:

1. I'm on summer vacation in a bit. 2 more half days. I'm gonna have a lot of time to work on this. If I'm not lazy.

2. I found a E{IC song that I plan on using in the game. Most of the time when I find a song I'll not post a link to keep it a surprise, but this song is just so touching that not showing it would be mean. :P

I just tried the game and can't reach the green apple after the toasters. Why is level 1 hard?

Ok, I found places for Shoop, Whoop, and Boing. Oh, yeah, I changed it that all 3 of them are brothers, instead of just Shoop and Whoop.

Shoop and Whoop
In hell, as the boss these guys will ambush you. Both of them. Before the fight, it points out that Shoop dosen't realy want to, though. I changed it to that Shoop was with the toasters at the start of the game. Anyway, after you beat them, they flee. They don't show up in the again story until you reach the first base. When you go to get Mapac(you DO go after him, right? I forgot. My own plot. lol.) he jumps out of a crater, and whispers you that he wants to come with you. You let him. At one point after that, Whoop will jump out at you and fire his lazer at you. Then Shoop will fire his lazer at Whoop's lazer. This will make both beams stop halfway. Actually, that's where the idea for Whoop came form. I just wanted to have 2 green apples fireing their lazers at each other. Anyway, while Shoop and Whoop are shooting at each other, you(and the rest of your group) retreat. Just before you go to fight the God of Toasters with your army Shoop and Boing will run in last second to help you out. Shoop will point out that since him and Whoop had equal power, there would only be a tie unless Boing attacked Whoop with him. Boing says Shoop was allwas the nicest of the 2 so he helped him. When you ask what the heck Boing was doing in space, he says he was practising a teleportation tecnique he just learned and he screwed up. Baddly.
Boing
He dosen't play much role in the story. At one point, while searching for pod upgrades, you will bump into him on a mountain. You hang with him for a bit(and he'll probaly teach you a new skill) before you get back on the quest. He tells you that if you ever need help, he's there for you, and he helps you out in the battle against the GOT. There's some other stuff on him, you can read that at the bottom of the Shoop and Whoop part.
One more change to the story:
When Mapac jumps out of the teleporter to stop the GOT from going through, Elemna will be with him. She needs to get into space somehow...


Now, I've actually worked on this. All the green apples are placed and acsessable(in demo 0.5 there were no apples in The Cliffs, and the ones in The Cave were not fully tested). Also, I won't make cutscenes until most of the game is done. Think about it:with all the changes I'm making to the plot, if I make the cutscenes now I'll defanitally have to chage them, and changing cutscenes without remaking them would take a while. With cutscenes out of the picture, I just have the shop upgrades, the save system, and the level replays to do.

Level select and save/load are done! That's evreything. I'm not gonna bother adding sounds other than the 2 I have on the menu. Too lazy.

This demo has 4 levels, 20 green apples to free and a boss. Pretty much the same as demo 0.5. This also contains bug fixes, the removal of the testing "cheats", a save system, a shop, the ability to replay levels, and other general tweaks like tiny toasters have 5 hp instead of 10.

The plan for demo 2 is 15 or 20 more levels.

If someone could say that demo 1 is out in the topic title, that would be great. :D

I just realised that there needs to be 20 levels, as 5 of the levels will be revolved around swiming and the swim sealant is at the end of hell.

ET4 has like 20 different musics and even with all of the other stuff it's still only 60 MB.

What type of file are you using for the music?

There's a few problems.

-Change the key for using weapons. Alt messes with stuff outside of the game for me.
-Add a limit for how fast you can fall, because one time I fell from the top of the Cave and went straight through the floors below.
-Don't make the purple toasters shoot insta-kill toast! It's just too unforgiving.
-I'm sure you're aware of this, but I'd like sounds in the game. Aside from the music and computer, almost everything is silent.

Aside from the problems, I think the game is heading in a good direction. :D

The purple toasters are techically called "The Elite Forces" in this game. *shot*

Would you be ok if the weapons were also used with the space bar? Also, I meant to bring the ammo from 50 to about 300 because of how hard it is to find them. (There's one in evrey level but level 5(which is a boss), by the way) Sorry that I forgot, I'll do it now.

Ok.

It was supposed to be unfrogiving. If I put no insta-kill, it would be quite eazy. Would it be ok with you if I just filled the level up with a LOT of checkpoints?

I forgot something. Because of plot stuff and that there's a purple armed toaster in the real games, I'm changing The Elite Fores from purple to dark purple.

It's supposed to be easy, it's one of the first levels in the game. Checkpoint spam wouldn't really solve it. If anything, you should make them shoot less often.

Good point, it is level 4. Ok, 1.5 the ammount of time in between shots, and no insta-kill?
