I've given up on this one. I know exactly where one has to be, but I can only get one of the others to the 3 buttons with me. Yes my bottom is your top. I was going down the passage to the bottom, you're going up the screen to the top.

If anyone can provide a step by step I'll be eternally grateful.

Don't give up yet. I don't have the solution, I only ran back and forth.

One hint though:

SPOILER, DO NOT READ UNLESS, you know why...

I suppose you know wich button you leave one boomer at? orange Always make sure you have acess to the other two.

If this doesn't help, I think Loirae has it written down somewhere. I'll pm it to you

I was once also at the 3 buttons with a boomer. But I got also stuck. I aborted this adventure and went further on in the game.
In the spoiler is what I know now.

Here's the situation on the last part of this level.

From upper left to bottom : light blue, light blue, blue
From upper middle to bottom: 3 buttons, blue, orange
From upper right to bottom: green, red, yellow

I'm on the middle blue, behind me is 1 boomer on the orange
left from me is one boomer and right from me is the last one

If I'm standing left or right I can't move the boomers. So I think I must stay in the middle.

How do I proceed?

Salin, My step-by-step is not the actual correct way and isn't the easiest way. It includes a tricky move where you have to use the KB and the mouse at the same time and that was never part of the intended solution. If a step by step is gong to be posted, I'd rather it be the one that is easier that many other people have figured out. But if that isn't going to happen, I'll post mine in a few hours.

I just don't think my backdoor solution should be the one one people are getting when they come for help.

Well I've just completed it with your unconventional method Loirae, that Inger PMd me. I would never have thought of doing that in a million years, and I don't care if it isn't the right way, my brain was about to go KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KABOOM!

I managed finally having 2 boomers and myself on the 3 buttons.
But now I'm challenged something else.
When I go for the left pink button the right gate opens.
When I go for the right pink button the left gate opens.
I can't return cos the log is gone the moment I stepped to the next tile.
And I can't order a boomer to go to the other button, cos then the gate closes too.

afterwards found it myself:
I order 1 boomer to go to the pink door and replace him at his button
then I go for the other door and stand on the opened orange gate
when I'm there I order the other boomer to open the gate before me

Which part?
The first part with pink, blue, light blue and green gates?
Or the part after it like sewel5 asked?
Or the one with the coloured gates and the buttons?

I got it, I followed a hint about numbers above. Stuck on all the buttons now.

Thanks a bunch Loirae and Inger. That was incredibly hard, but with that weird system she came up with, I actually got thru it.

Now who's the genius. Guess Dylan has to take a back seat for awhile

Lisa, you only need two scritters and yourself up there. The third scritter needs to stay on the lower orange button

Thanks. I knew that color button was the key to the end. I'll have to retry it. I bailed out with the cheat to keep moving on - I was so frustrated by this one. LOL. Now I'm struggling with the heat of the volcano. Much thanks for the help.

I've been trying this level for about 4-5 hours over 2 days and I just can't get past the ending. It's a dreadfully frustrating level.

Whatever I do there's always a gate in the way of progress.

I managed the opening and the middle rooms by myself, but the last room defeats me.

I have to give up.

Lizzie, and all of you who's struggeling, here it is.
MAJOR WALKTHROUGHT!!!!! DO NOT READ UNLESS.....(from Loirae, thanks)

Number from bottom to top: 1 2 3 4 (left) 5 6 7 8 (right)
Start with 1-3-4-6 and make sure the stinker is on 3 and stinker's position below is in bold. Make the following changes:
1-3-4-6

1-5-4-6

3-5-4-6

2-5-4-6

2-5-7-6

3-5-7-6

3-5-7-2

3-5-8-2

3-5-8-4

3-5-10-4

6-5-10-4

6-6-10-4 this move along with the next just swap the kaboom and the stinker

5-6-10-4 end swap

5-6-9-4

move stinker up to stand on the open indigo gate

click and drag boomer from 5 to 2 but before letting go, hold down the UP arrow and keep pressed. Then let go of mouse. Boomer goes off blue button andgets blocked for now, stinker moves off gate and just barely makes it without getting caught in closing gate.
Now we should be at:
X-11-9-4

X-11-8-4 (this allows boomer to continue to 2)

2-10-8-4

2-10-X-X where the two Xs are the boomers in that top middle room with you.

Then it's just a matter of alternating 8 and 10 while the other one stays on 2.

Thanks Inger and Loirae for this solution, but it's a measure of how out of sync I am with the game because I don't understand it from the get go.

You say:

Number from bottom to top: 1 2 3 4 (left) 5 6 7 8 (right)

How can this be done? The grid is 3 x 3 squares with one at the top.
I'm so dumb ... sorry!
