Okay, it's been way over a "week or so" - I think it's time for some hints? Maybe? Please?

oh hey, sorry, I've been too busy the past week to do anything Wonderland related. :(

Seems like nobody solved it yet huh. Looks like those who thought they're close to finishing is starting to see what I really mean by "initial successes can be very misleading". And then the rest are just hopelessly lost.

Anyhow, I do want everyone to at least get past room 2, since that's not even close to what makes this level so evil. So below's the hint for room 2 I've been giving everyone who PMed:

SPOILERS

Ok, room 2. I've pasted below the hints I've given for a few other people:

The trick behind room 2 is this: there're certain things you can do in room 1 that doesn't work in room 2 (and similarly, 3 and 4), because the conveyor belts forbid you from going in certain directions. On the other hand, those same conveyor belts allows you to store a box in locations that would not work in room 1, because you can then push the box into the conveyor belt and have the conveyor belt bring it back down towards the row of green buttons.

More specifically, try starting off getting room 2 to look like this:

Code: Select all

---- ---
--vO --
- O -
- O OO -
- O -
--- ---
--------
And go from there. (dashes are the walls, Os are the boxes, and the v is the conveyor belt). Notice how I put one of the boxes to the right of the conveyor belt. In room 1 that would be bad because there'd be no way to bring the box back down once you got it there, however because of the conveyor belt in room 2, you can eventually get the box back down towards the row of green buttons by simply pushing it into the conveyor belt.

Anyway, if you're still really stuck, here's a way to get all 6 boxes in room 2, step by step:

Code: Select all

---- ---
--v --
- O O -
- O OO -
- O -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--v --
- O O -
- O OO -
- O -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--vO --
- O -
- O OO -
- O -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--vO --
- O -
- O O -
- O O -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--vO --
- O -
- O O-
- O O -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--vO --
- O -
- OO O-
- O -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--vO --
- O -
- OO O-
- O -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--vO --
- O O -
- O O-
- O -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--vO --
- O O -
-O O-
- O -
--- ---
--------

(Here's the step where you go thru the conveyor belt to get that box back down)

---- ---
--v --
- O O -
-OO O-
- O -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--v --
- OO -
-OO O-
- O -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--v --
- OO -
-OO O O-
- -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--v --
- O -
-OO OOO-
- -
--- ---
--------

---- ---
--v --
- -
-OOOOOO-
- -
--- ---
--------

While I'm at it, I figure I should also give out hints for the two other places everyone will get stuck on. So here they are, "in case you need it". Read BIG SPOILER 1 first before reading BIG SPOILER 2. In fact, don't even read BIG SPOILER 2 until you first make full use of what you learn in BIG SPOILER 1, to the point where you end up stuck somewhere else.

Once you read BIG SPOILER 1 you'll learn why this level is so incredibly evil. You might even hate me for it, for a specific reason which you'll see from the spoiler.

Despite what you think, I posted this level not because I enjoy frustrating everyone (heck, I should know, I myself got stuck too solving this, remember?). Once you know how the puzzle works, there'd hopefully be a certain feeling admiration (or fear?) from the left side of your brain at the evil genius David who designed this puzzle.

Thanks for the very long and involved spoiler -- and I'm just talking about the clues for part 2, haven't even looked at the downloads for the other parts yet, since I'm not there yet.

Printing out the clues in Word didn't help me much, since it no longer looks like what you have here and I was just as stumped looking at my new clues as I was before. So now I'm having to draw this thing, and if I ever get past part 2 I'll take a look at the downloads. Thanks for all the work, Linky! It must have taken just as much time to post the solutions as it took to make the level in the first place. It really is a great level, well laid out and incredibly tough!

Finished by my son for a grand score of 10 (ok the timer was off). Now the swine wont tell me how he did it.

Oops, sorry about that. Try this attachment instead, the file is already in Word format and should look much better. 8)

No problem, I already have taken the time to write these hints during a reply to someone's PMing me about this level, so it's just a matter of transferring them into files and zip them.

And let me re-emphasize again that David Stolp is the original maker of this level, I merely found a way to adapt it into a Wonderland level. I'm just not quite clever enough to come up with a puzzle of such surprising difficulty to solve as he could.

Oooh, hey excellent job! 8) 8) 8) Did he resort to my hints or was he able to figure it out all by himself?

I've downloaded the zip files and had a look  Now I'm more confused than ever :?

I had already tried that idea of moving boxes from one room to another but still got stuck.

Now, when I have 4 hours or so to spare, I'll try following the step by step hints, but I don't hold out much hope of me EVER finishing this level
