Well, considering your username I would rather think you like Rock music, and probably Technos would like Techno music. 8)

But I have to admit though, considering my avatar you probably would think that I like House music, but actually I don't like it. I like Rock music, just as Dr. House does. :)

Here's the problem though, and it's something many people have pointed out, myself included - apart from your attitude towards ^_^ getting much more lenient, you really haven't. I don't harbor any resentment towards you or anyone, but to be honest I myself am still feeling a bit of a harsher vibe off of you, so to speak.

Don't get me wrong, I think you are a good person like almost everyone else here, but I'm personally still feeling your older attitude.

Note that you're responding on a post from about 3,5 days ago.

(But also a note to myself that I misread that post, by missing the word "no" in: Note that i am also no longer a wefight addict. I still don't get the point though, but I don't think it's very important.)

Oh, besides the classic rock I mentioned, I also like electronic music a lot. Specifically old electronic music, like chiptunes. Here's an example of a really good one:

I also make my own, every once in a while. I just finished a song earlier tonight, it's on this link if you'd like to listen through it:

Sonic Colo(u)rs - Reach for The Stars

"I'M GONNA REACH FOR THE STARS,
ALTHOUGH THEY LOOK PRETTY FAR"

I think Sega's finally put themselves back on the right path. Here's hoping they can stay on it.

The word "Melancholy" in BB's RTW-music poll reminds me of this song: Melancholy Man - The Moody Blues

Death Note OST -- L no Nakama (L's theme D)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo3YMCqH674
A way to use the main note sequence of L's theme without making it sound too much like "Tubular Bells" by Mike Oldfield? A way to use the riff from L's theme B at the same time? Under insanely awesome bass? SIGN. ME. UP.

Sounds nice (although I don't know anything about the L's and the D's) Also nothing wrong with Mike Oldfield. I like their music too. :D

Well, I said that, and I know some music of Mike Oldfield, but to be honest, I don't remember I heard this before:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSRJvq4Wd48

If that's what you was talking about. And I think it's something special. 8)

I was talking about Tubular Bells, yes... although this is a different part of it. I was talking about the more famous part that was used as the theme song for "The Exorcist".

And L is a character from an anime called "Death Note". That anime has a good soundtrack. 8)

There's L's theme A, which is the main one. It sounds awesome 8) but is very very similar to tubular bells... almost to the point of being a copy. A very clever and very good copy though.

L's theme B sounds nothing like it, but it isn't as awesome. :(

L's theme C (L no Kage) is an amazing rendition of L's theme A. Very haunting and eerie.

L's theme D is what I linked you to.

For the curious:

Tubular Bells/Exorcist theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GkdV5GJqSM (there were several versions of this, this is probably the movie remix)
L's theme A: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uUVX376U4M
L's theme B: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsn-OgXzbaM
L's theme C: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SixhstQf95w

Thanks. Yes I agree the Exorcist theme sounds a bit like the A and C theme, but it's not quite exactly the same. They're all pretty good to listen at, although the much repeating thing becomes a bit boring.

Actually I don't/haven't watch(ed) a lot of movies, so all those themes are not quite familiar to me.

Usually, but not always, I like the less-well-known music better then the most well known. To be honest, I like the Tubular Bells part, which I found by coincidence, the most. (Although I don't really dislike any of the songs you posted. Of all of them I like them D the most.)

The one you've posted is part of the original by Mike Oldfield... just not the first part... and it was hard for me to find the first part of the original.

The Exorcist theme is a remix, and not the most faithful one to the original in fact... though I like it more than the original, but that's because I've heard it first. (in a YouTube video for "devil coin vanish")

And only then did the L themes appear.

I am very glad you posted this. Do you watch Death Note too? I really love the soundtrack, I have the show on DVD and burned my favorite songs on a CD to listen to in the car. They're really nice driving songs.

Muzo, have you heard the track "L no Shisou"? It means "L's Ideology" (where L no Nakama means "L's Companions"). The tracks build up really nicely, introducing th main piano theme at the very end. Let me know what you think of this one:

Muzo, I see. Well usually I like an original song the most, but not always, especially when I heard a cover, or a new version first. For example, in my teenager's years the Pet Shop Boys were pretty popular, and I like their version of "Always on my mind" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2aMaMkDwTA better then Elvis' original. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Za8cpM6cGYk (Not sure if this is the first version, but if I'm right Elvis made the original)

Also "Whiskey in the jar" is originally an Irish folk (drinking) song, but I like Thin Lizzy's cover (posted before) the best. I also like the Dubliners but only after a jar of whiskey.

About themes: I think a theme is something to remember. A theme is good but only a theme without the rest of the music is too simple in my opinion. The version I posted starts also with the same theme, but then much more things are added, which makes it really MUSIC, in my opinion. (BTW, it seems that playing drums is topsport! :o )

No, I haven't seen Death Note. I've tried to read the manga, but seeing the fictional world through the eyes of a self-righteous villain (and that's what I think Light Yagami is) was insanely revolting. I stopped reading very quickly.

Okay, I see your point about the plot of Death Note. It can be pretty off-putting, though the other characters balance Light, in my opinion. Thoughts on Death Note aside, did you listen to the song I posted? Cause that was the point of my post, not the anime.

Ohhhhh man this is awesome indeed. I love the piano, and the repeating synth doesn't get old. The drums remind me of Bomberman Hero on the N64 too. Overall this song is awesome, and sort of makes me want to try the game (if I could).
