Ok, I was thinking about the plot. So here is the new plot(only stuff added, nothing removed)...this is the whole plot, until the end of the game, so don't read it all if you don't want spoilers!

1 year after the events of ET2, long before the events of ET3

Roaster and the ET are planing on launching a amarda of hundreds giant toaster-shaped ships into space, wich will then each fire a supercharged lazer at their planet, destroying it instantly. The toasters and the apples are living there, so that would destroy all the apples in the prosess. That's the idea. They would have evrey last toaster and piece of toast with it's own ship, so none of them would die. While they were finishing up on ship designs, Roaster realised that The Apple would shurely stop the hem. They realised that all they actually need to do is use the caginator on The Apple and they wouldn't have any problems with him, so they did. The Apple tried evreything to break the cge, but it was no use. It was to small to jump before a d-smash. As soon as they carried him away, Shaman(who was chating with The Apple at the time) decided to resque him...of course, he didn't know about their plan to destroy the planet. He later finds out, from Elemna(one of Technos's fan charecters, I have his permishon), about the attack. While Shaman works on saving The Apple, Elemna works on upgrading The Apple's pod(from POD CPU)(You will be amble to buy upgrades for it, wich Elemna will attach, and then you can use it in a simalar way as POD CPU, but accsess will be in the hub)(From that point on you might be amble to play as Elemna). The pod needs to charge offten, so you can only destroy a few ships with each launch. After a while, you end up getting a upgraded power core wich allows you to go up there for sevral hours instead of minutes. You put your guard down about running out of power after a few hours, and you only realise how little power you have just before it's too late. You use the rest of the power to get yourself to the moon, where you crash land but you don't catch on fire from entering the apmoshere, like you would if you aimed yourself at your planet(your forcefileds would end up dying when you run out of power)(this moon will have a apmoshere of breatable air, wich you later find out is because Roaster set it up so they could have a base up there)(you can't go back to your planet from here on, so the other level aren't acsessable). You end up finding their base, whch is where The Apple is being kept. You resque him and you tell him that you are stuck there since the pod has no power. The Apple then tells you that the toasters have made special chrystals wich have huge ammounts of power, wich they plan to use to power each ship in the fleat. One chrystal allone would be plenty to run the pod. So you 2(from this point on you might be amble to play as The Apple) go to the center of the base, grab a chrystal, and RUN! You get to the pod, power it up and attack the fleat. The power of the chrystal never runs out, so you end up destroying evrey last ship there(and you can go back to your planet if you don't feel like fighting right away, and still come back. This lets you continue and upgrade the pod.). After it's destroyed, you decide to go and find Roaster and the ET and beat them up. You can't find them in the base, but you do find a teleporter. it brings you to another planet, with breathable air, again. That makes you think that this is the next planet the toasters planed to destroy, wich is true...but that dosen't come up in the actual game. Anyway, after you search the planet for a bit you find a half-built base, wich is where the ET and Roaster are. You fight them, win, and go back home. End of game.

This is realy long, so I might trim some of it. Also, when you play as someone else it's just the visual that changes, and when you are stranded you can't play as Elemna.

Another update...
You won't buy (spoiler, you should understand if you got that far into the plot), instead, you will get them for beating bosses and you will get your max lives increased by buying them(expensive, though). I might also add "starple power" which will increase the attack of each starple(more expensive that starple burst since it won't effect how many shots you have like starple burst does).

Thanks! :D

I might add(MIGHT) a fan charecter(from myself) named mapac, a yellow apple who is very smart and eats anything he wants, usaly his enemies. His only weakness would be that...have you ever tried to eat a toaster? He can eat them, but he would burn his mouth.

I'm gonna work on the (get that far in the plot) minigame now. 8)

I dunno. I thought of him in a daydream, and in there he streched into a giant sideways U shape wich was a mouth. I guess is that if he is actually in the game he will get huge and "grow" a mouth. :P

Here is the "script" for a early cutscene. May be shortened afterward.
-Shaman is walking slowly through The Hills and Elemna runs by-
Shaman:Wait!
Elemna:Fine...
-Elemna walks to Shaman-
Elemna:Hey,are you Shaman? That legendary blue apple?
Shaman:Yup!
Elemna:Awesome. Now, could you make it quick? I'm buzy.
Shaman:You know that legendary red apple? You seen him?
Elemna:You a fanboy?
Shaman:Of course not! Me and him here talking about stuff, and Roaster ran in and...
Elemna:Wait, Roaster? Like, toaster army Roaster?
Shaman:Yeah.
Elemna:We have a common intrest. Roaster is gonna blow up the planet, and I'm trying...
Shaman:BLOW UP THE PLANET?!?You can't be serious.
Elemna:Oh,I am. He's got hundreds, mabye even thousands of ships orbiting the planet. When he has eneugh up there, they will all fire lazers at the planet at the same time, blowing it up instantly.
Shaman:Were dead. How were you gonna try to stop him, anyway?
Elemna:I was gonna go see my friend, Mapac. He's a genius, so I'm guessing he has a pod. I was gonna use it to get into space and attack.
Shaman:I have a pod. We could use mine.
Elemna:That makes things eazier! What type?
Shaman:Saddly, basic.
Elemna:Those are mad weak. Mabye we should go see Mapac after all, mabye he has some upgrades.
Shaman:Ok. Let's go.
Elemna:Ok, follow me!
(There might be a level or 2 in the way here. After that...)
-Shaman and Elemna walk into Mapac's workshop-
Mapac:Hey, Elemna! Who's your friend?
Elemna:Hi, this is Shaman.
Shaman:Nice to meet ya.
Mapac:Wait, the legendary one? I thought you were a myth! You have got to be kidding. Take off the costume.
Elemna:No, he realy is. Who makes costumes for apples, anyway?
Mapac:Good point. so, why are you here?
Shaman:We need some upgrades for my pod, or were...ALL GONNA DIE!
Mapac:Right...
Elemna:Were serious.
Mapac:Ok, ok...I don't have any upgrades, but there are some randomly scattered out there. Somewhere...
Shaman:So we just walk around and hope we bump into them, without getting killed by the toaster army?
Mapac:Guess so.
Elemna:Are there any others? Mabye we can buy them?
Mapac:I'm the only guy who makes pod upgrades, remember?
Elemna:Oh, yeah.
Shaman:Say what?
Mapac:I'm the only apple smart eneugh to make those upgrades. It's not that confusing.
Shaman:I was surpised.
Mapac:Allright. I stoped making them a while ago, so the only ones you can get are ones that droped off of my pod. I don't have any more, they all got destroyed.
Shaman:Can you make some more?
Mapac:I lost the blueprints...sorry!
Elemna:Allright, then. We'll go look. Thanks!
-Shaman and Elemna walk out of Mapac's workshop-
(At Shaman's pod)
Elemna:I've been running around all day. You mind if I stay here while you look?
Shaman:Ok, fine.
(End of cutscene)

TP...

Ok, the game is going good. The level part of the hub is set up. This is diffrent, I have it that you can only acsess "current" levels(your next one(s) (at one point you can acsess 3 levels at once) ) from the hub. Earlyer ones will be acsessable from a menu.

I might add a 2 player mode. 8)

I'm gonna say it now, that minigame mentioned earlyer is like POD CPU. I won't go into much detail to avoid more spoilers, but you can read the plot above(at least part of it) to learn more about it, if you feel like it.

How many levels do you guys want in Demo 1?

I would still like to know how many levels you want in demo 1.

I made some fan charecters(they appear early in the plot. Not that much of a spoiler) called the Elite Forces. They are a group of purple toasters wich will be the obsticle in all of the "Enviormental Hazard" levels, wich are now "Attack of the Elite Forces!" levels. They use diffrent stratagies in each level, you will get variaty. anyway, I decided to put a link to the song that will be their theme.

Also, Mapac is now gonna be on the side of the toasters, but he pretends to be with the apples(when he tells them to go to a waterfall to find a pod upgrade piece. Could you call him a double agent? I dunno.

10?

Or 5, depending on how long you're planning this to be.

The levels aren't that long...wait a sec.

Boywhoflies does some math!

Oh wait, this ain't wefight.
So far, the plan is 30 levels, I think. I better add more, ET3 has 35 and they are all at least 3 times larger than these.

So 5 or 10?

50.

In the whole game?

I'll get more levels in there if I can find a way to get them in the plot. Now that I think about it, since at the end of the game there is gonna be 3 boss fights, not just 1.(The Elite Forces, Roaster, and the ET). Any ideas?

5-10 would be good. Games are always the most difficult to design when you first start working on them, so start with small amounts.

DP and update.

Ok, 3/5 levels are done...I have 1 normal level and one boss to make, then wait for the testers to finish checking. However, 3 bugs poped up:

  • You can go over max lives if you pick them up at the same time.

When the Elite Forces are attacking in level 4, there is a checkpoint. If you die while they are still shooting at you after you touch it, there will be toast entering the area where the checkpoint is, even though they shouldn't. This is probaly a error on GM8's part, :x , since they are supposted to destroy themselves if they are outside view 0 or if they touch a wall(they are doing both, for gods sake).

A target in level 4 can leave it's boundary. Again, probaly a error on GM8's part, :x , since I put boundaries there and they work evreywhere else.
Considering all but one of them is probaly on GM8's part, I'm gonna either need to find a new engine or hope GM9 comes out. Or get lucky. Any of those 3 is gonna take a while.
Insert swearing here. *shoot*

Here is a screenshot of bug#2. You can call it a preview if you want.

You'd think Yoyo Games would realise there's about 10 million glitches in their stupid program.

Nevermind that taking forever. I nailed 2/3, and I think #3 was just the save system messing up. I'm pretty shure after you die it's over, so it's not major. It would be nice to ditch it though, I have a idea...give me a bit. 8)
