How can I get through the pink gate?


EDIT: I figured it out 20 seconds after posting!

It's infuriating when you overlook simple things...

the scritter is on the pink button.
When I go to the top to stop the turtle, I must pass the scritter so it's moves from the button. Gate closes.
I can move the scritter back. But when I come again by the ice part, the scritter moves away. So the pink gate closes. And I'm trapped.
Must the fireflower shoot the scritter?
Or must I be faster to go to the ice and stop the turtle? I think that's impossible. Please help me?

No need. I think I figured it out myself. I'm not at the star yet.

you don't have to push the pink button the first time you go check the turtle. When you check on the turtle the second time, let the scritter move from its position. Then use the pink button!

I never did find out what use the turtle was, I just let him get caged and did the whole level without him. In fact I just stood and watched where it was going and didn't start doing the level until he was in the cage.

I must have tried this level 100 times....I keep trying to get through the gate between the flower shooting the barrels and then shooting the critter - and either die or miss the gate. Do I just need to be faster or am I missing something. What is the turtle for?

By your desciption, emma, you're changing too many colors of the gates too fast. (I did that the first 10 times, too.)
highlight:

Lower the left gate, Shoot kegs. Pet the scritter.
THEN lower that right gate to shoot all the way across.

If that's too cryptic, just give a hollar.
