hi! cant figure out how to open red gate as i'm leaving the sewers after getting indigo shard any solutions?

hi i have gone back to morklin but no clue on the red gate????

The red gate in the sewers are where the Thwart comes through after stealing the indigo shard. He steps on the button that closes the gate. There is absolutely nothing whatsoever behind that gate. It's meant to be closed, so don't worry about it.
