This was a cute level but could you mark them as Kids levels. It was visually appealing but there was not much of a challenge.

I don't think you can tell people what sort of levels to make. If you don't like em don't play em.

I was not saying that!
These are JUST suggestions!!! I'm not telling anyone what they shoudl do!

This doesn't sound like a suggestion to me. It sounds like you're saying the levels aren't good enough. I'd be very upset if you were saying it me.
It wouldn't do for us all to make the same sort of levels, would it? That would be
very boring.

You are doing a good job learning how to make levels, Maryann, and you are adding more things each time.
In my opnion that long post by Kaboom was rude and not necessary. We all have different likes and abilities. You make yours the way you want to. He doesn't HAVE TO download them or make a comment.

Oh my goodness...I wrote a comment just as a suggestion so that people know what the level entails...I did not realize it would start such a firestorm
I want to clarify something...The levels have been very well done and very visually appealing

I, in no way, am suggesting that they are anything else.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND GO AT YOUR OWN PACE ON THE DIFFICULTY OF YOUR LEVELS
I am starting to wonder whether or not to post anymore...everyone is so sensitive.

Well first of all I think most people were more annoyed with Kaboom's post than yours. Things like this occasionally happen where someone said something and it grew into something heated. Frankly this is one of the more "peaceful" forum I've encountered (not counting dead forums

), so don't get too upset over what's ultimately a small thing.
Second, I disagree w/ your call to mark a level as "kids level"
just because it's easy. While it's true that most kids level are easy because of the audience they have in mind, there's more to "kids level" than just difficulty. For example, I would be hesitant to mark a level as kids level if it features sign post w/ off-colored jokes, or a custom model of a nude male/female, even if the gameplay is nothing more than finding hidden coins. Even in less extreme cases, kids have interest in different topics than adults, so a level about going to a candy store would make a better kids level than a level about, say, a baby shower, regardless of difficulty. Ultimately the judgment on whether to mark a level as "kid" or not should be left to the level creator.
Most people tend to avoid giving public judgments on a level's difficulty because it varies from people to people. What one might find difficulty someone else might find easy and vice versa. There're a good number of levels for example where many people ran into difficulties the level creator never expected, and conversely, there are also a number of levels where a tricky part turned out to be not so tricky because people found ways to circumvent that part. Moreover, different people have different thresholds on what sort of difficulty they like, and that can even vary depending on outside factors (for example, after spending an entire day on custom models, I'd probably prefer playing a simple level w/ nice visuals over a trickly level, even though normally I get a kick out of levels that require some hard thought). So ultimately it's better for the forum to have a mix of varied difficulty, including some on the very easy side and some on the very hard side. Finally, it's not easy to create tricky levels. It takes experience, some inspiration and a bit of experimentation, and ultimately the result might get in the way of other objectives (ie. visuals, size, resource limitations etc.). [Also keep in mind that copying someone else's tricky part will only yield you something which is no longer so tricky since it's been seen before.] Not many of us here are like Patrick and the gang who can seemingly manage to create interesting levels with such varying difficulty. The fact is, from most level creator's point of view, it's work enough to just create the darn level, why worry so much about difficulty when its contribution to the level's enjoyment can be so uncertain?
Anyway, please don't stop posting. Rather than looking at this incident as a bunch of "oversensitive" people, just see the incident as a number of people who wants to encourage Destiny5250 to continue making levels.

Isn't that your objective too? As much as this particular level is not to your taste, you wouldn't want Destiny5250 to completely stop making anymore levels would you?

I too like some easy levels to quickly play sometimes as a pleasant wind down from thinking too much somewhere else
JanGalle just posted a kid's level that I hope every adult will download to appreciate the contrast of the design. Finding all of the coins is a tad tricky also.
Labeling for me isn't necessary because I download every level. My interest in the games isn't just the playing but enjoying the creativity of everybody. I then delete the ones that I don't want to play again or that other members of my family wouldn't be able to play.
I don't have time to create levels myself but I certainly enjoy the efforts of anybody who takes the time to make them. I do use the editor to sometimes add changes that are more pleasing to me visually or eliminate one spot that kills me instantly so I can at least look the game over for its' merits.
Easy or hard
Big or small
Keep on making them
I love them all

Very well said Linky and Ramonda, my sentiments exactly.
It's also nice to see all the poetry that's springing up.

The original post by Kaboom has been edited and is no longer here.
Your analysis, LNS, is correct and fair.
It may be that Kaboom was just trying to be helpful, but we must take into account the way a post reads to everyone else, and the person for whom it was written, before posting it.
I know, after downloading and playing levels by certain names, what they will be like. If they are way too difficult or too easy, then I can choose not to download levels by that person. Or I try it and if I don't like it, then I would never tell someone I didn't like their level....it may be wonderful to someone else....I am just one of 500+ members. That is far better than commenting negatively.
What if I posted this on a level that was way too advanced and hard for me personally to play:
What are you thinking? How can an average player ever play this level? It is way too tricky, requires fast fingers and quick thinking and there are parts I can't figure out. Can't you make your levels easier so I can play them???
Isn't that kind of the reverse?
Everyone deserves a chance to try, and learn.

Well said Linky and olgramma.........
I LOVE ALL levels.......some I have only tried once and have mentally set them aside for when I want a 'brain meltdown' challenge.......most I just keep trying 'til I get them.......and the 'easier' ones I LOVE especially after doing one that makes my head spin. Thank goodness we don't all make and like the same type of level....boring!!! We have such a wonderful mixed batch of family members here....I'm truly grateful.
That reminds me, I must try making a 'new' level soon
