Fish tanks huh?
Fish tanks are made of glass which is transparent. You can't have transparent models in the game, it just doesn't work. So you can have the fish, but you can't have the tanks.

I've made the best fish tank I can given that you can't have glass in it. It's 1 tile high to fit on a wall, 2 tiles long, and 1 tile deep. If you need it any bigger let me know.
The file is copyrighted
© so don't be tempted to put it on any 3D model sites. Apart from the weeds, which are jg's, it's all my own work.
It's a very large file so you don't want too many of them in a level.

I thought I'd give one a try since I haven't made anything from scratch in a while. I went a different route and just textured all four sides, instead of doing the back and adding separate models inside. (And looking at it now, in 3d view, I see I forgot the bottom sand on the side panels, and the corners are a bit off.

)
Not quite as elegant as yours.

PS: Since you have a copywrite, are
you going to sell it on one of the model sites?

Ya know, people keep telling me to, but since I'm not a whizzkid model maker I never think they're worth it. I wouldn't pay for a model, unless I needed it for a job and it was a super dooper one, so I figure no-one else would want to either. Besides, I make them primarily for fun and for Wonderland so a lot of them would be a bit useless to anyone else..... and I can only make very simple shapes.
Here's how I made the fish...
First, in AC3D you can use a picture as a background in the ortho views, so I used the fish jpg (unsquashed) in the front view. Zoomed in on one fish so I could use it as a template. Then made a sphere with ten (I think) sections and had the poles facing nose to tail on the fish. Stretched it out to fit from nose to base of tail, squashed it in in the side view coz fish are sorta flat. Then in vertex mode I moved all the outside vertices to follow the outline of the fish's body, spaced out the vertices in between, did a bit of tweaking in the side view so the tail end was flatter than the nose end and the belly was a bit rounder.
Then I textured it using the same jpg, doing it in vertex mode again so I could get all the vertices where I wanted them.
Then for the fins I used polygon mode. I traced around the outline one fin at a time so I got a fin shaped polygon. Then I had to duplicate it and reverse the normals on the second one so it would be visible from both sides, then merged the two into one object. Textured it using the same principle as before, and so on until I had done all the fins.
Sounds complicated but it only takes 10 or 15 minutes to make one fish.
Incidentally, I used the exact same principle to make the 3D dragon model. That was more fiddly though as I had to 'fold' all the seperate bits at the right angles to get them to fit together.

You know I don't think I ever uploaded it to the forum. I know I have it somewhere, I'll look on my other computer in the morning.

I don't hink you did either JanetGalle, after I posted I realized he wanted to see yours, I had forgotten you did one also. I went thru my model folder but couldn't find it. So sorry Andy, I was a bit confused.

Sorry Andy,
I can't find "Tanked" anywhere. It was probably one of many that I lost in a computer meltdown!
