WHICH LEVEL IS MINE?

RULES

1. All levels submitted must be playable and solvable to the majority of the participants.
a. You must play your level at least three (3) times before submitting them to the judge.

2. Any levels submitted that cannot be played and solved by at least 2 volunteers and the judge, will be rejected.
a. The creator will be contacted by Private Messaging and will be given the opportunity to fix the level problem or submit a new level. The deadlines will still be enforced, unless you are not contacted within five (5) days of the deadline.
b. A rejection does not mean you are banned from the contest, only your level.
c. If you do not wish to submit a second level, please notify the judge so your name can be removed from the list.

3. All Wonderlanders are welcome to participate, but only those who have submitted at least 10 levels in Classic and/or Deluxe forums since joining the Wonderland Forum will be allowed to participate. This is out of fairness to those guessing, as your styles/preferences are obvious only after several creations have been played.

4. Everyone is welcome to download the secret levels. HOWEVER, only those who submit a level will be eligible to submit a guess and to win the contest.
a. Non-participants who wish to post their guesses are welcome to do so only after the participants’ lists have been posted.

5. The correct answers will be posted in a new topic 3 days following the posting of the participants’ guess lists.

6. Entries must be submitted by the deadlines below. Those received after that date will not be accepted. I apologize, but the timeframes are established for reasons of convenience to the judge, and in consideration for the international time frames.

7. The limits of the levels are established so that all computers can run them without receiving such messages as “Memory Access Violation”, or other causes of freezing.

a. The maximum size of the board is 30 tiles by 30 tiles.
b. Only the houses in Editor are allowed. No Custom Houses or Models.
c. To limit jerky or slow levels for some computers, only ONE weather feature may be used.
d. There should be no more than 50 “baddies”, electric tiles, spikes and/or fish as this affects some computers and will not operate allow them to properly.

DEADLINES

To join the contest:

Midnight (your local time), Saturday, August 28, 2004

To submit a level:
Midnight (your local time), Saturday, September 18, 2004

To submit your guesses:

Midnight (your local time), Saturday, October 9, 2004

Because of the international time differences, the judge will check for all submissions on Sunday, the day after each of the deadlines.

Any submissions not received before the deadlines will unfortunately not be accepted.

*As the judge will be absent from the forum from Friday, September 17th until Monday, September 20th, levels will be posted by midnight, Monday September 20th. (Sorry folks, but unless I change the submission deadline, which was a concern for several players, I can’t be in 2 places at once)* :D

You may submit your levels at anytime before the deadline.

The participants’ guess lists will be posted by Monday, October 11, 2004 at the latest.

The correct answers will be posted by Wednesday, October 13, 2004.

Those who have not submitted a level are asked to wait until after the participants’ guess lists have been posted, before posting their own guesses. This is out of fairness to those who worked hard on their anonymous levels and those who are playing them as part of the contest. Please be fair.

The contest winner(s) will be announced Wednesday, October 13, 2004. A “party” for all Wonderlanders will follow, honouring the winners and the hard work by all participants.

Good Luck Everyone! :D

AMENDMENT TO RULES

After some consideration, and much talk between several contest players, we have decided to lower the level contribution to 5, instead of 10.

If you have contributed 5 levels to the forum since joining the Wonderland discussion board, then you are eligible.

PM me if you are intersested in joining the contest. You still have until 12:00 midnight your local time to sign up.

Any new challengers????? :D

No worries Jersey :D ... more than happy to be on board.

I don't know what happened to any PMs though - I did get an email saying I had a PM but when I went to my PMs I didn't have anything there??? I thought afterwards it was just a bit of junk mail - which isn't anything unusual... at least 24/25 emails I get are junk mail.

Robbie :D

PS... maybe you could convince the grand master of level making himself to come on board... our one & only Pat.

... and DG (discgolfer) ??? Bruce B - who else was in our last comp?

Hi Robbie,

I'm trying to remember who the entrants were.

Lean Demon, yourself, DG, me, majic1, ol'gramma, Bruce B, LNS and I think SharonM. Was Dianna in it?

This is annoying me now, must go look.

Get back to you soon.

Maureen.

Had a look and boy, was I surprised how many I'd missed.

Dianna wasn't in it, she had computer problems at the time.

The ones I missed were (How could I?) Malcdelsol, Andrew, (BPurcell's son) Pat, Ali and how dare I forget the winner, EEYORE31!

That was a great competition, hope this one turns out as good.

Maureen.

Hi Jersey! You didn't tell us HOW to submit our levels to you. I just PM'd my level - hope that's okay!

Something must have happened last week to the pm's I sent.

Everyone that posted their admission were sent my email address to submit their levels. Not everyone got those pm's. In fact, LNS, Robbie and Kaboom were sent pm's asking if they were going to play, but none of them received them.

I received Kaboom's level via PM...I didn't know you could send an attachment with PMs! Is this something new in the last week????? There was a post a couple of days (week) ago and someone asked if they could send attachments and they were told they couldn't...gotta get on line more often, I'm missing all the good stuff.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX(edited)

Never mind! I found the event in question! A little slow in the brain production...as usual.
Midnight Synergy wrote:I've enabled it now. Do be cautious though when you get attachments that you know who sent it and what's in it. Also, for sake of my database size (and hence time to do backups), I would really appreciate it if people wouldn't keep too many attachments hanging around in their inbox (i.e. delete the message when you're done with them).

I have sent my level via e mail Jersey.

Let me know if you received it okay.

How many are you waiting for?

Got it just a few minutes ago, Maureen. Thanks.

To date, I have three including yours. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll have everyone's to post before the deadline. I'm out of town that weekend, so it will likely be late on the 20th or the 21st before they get posted. I'll only post when I have all entries.

You can now send the levels to me via PM's or the address I sent you.

Regrettably, I don't think I'll have time to complete any level for the competition, not to mention currently it's somewhat inconvenient for me to access the Internet because my new apartment isn't set up with it yet, so I'd have to head to my workplace (only a few miles away).

So looks like I'll have to drop out. Sorry.

(On the off chance that I do miraculously managed to get something submitted in time, basically when Jersey starts posting levels she can confirm whether or not I submitted.)

I've sent you a pm, LNS letting you know that I still haven't posted yet, and will wait until this evening to do so.

I don't know if it will give you enough time, but I certainly hope so. :D

Please send me a pm if you can't submit the level, and I will post your regrets when I post the levels.
