Sorry, but md, I found out how to do just what you want to do very quickly. If I can, you can. You don't need people answering every little question you've got. Imagine if you didn't know that this forum exists. Then you'd find out.

If this forum never excited then anyone registered on this forum wouldn't be able to get the Wonderland Adventures Level Editor. Why do people answer my questions less than other people? I'm not doing this for more posts. In this post I really don't know how to make an NPC walk/run and stop it walking/running at certain times then keep it walking again (e.g. on the real wonderland adventures when your getting the indigo shard in the sewers (on the last level, to catch a thief) the thwart will stop to shoot then walk again). Also how do you get an NPC to walk in certain positions. Some things in the attachments of the objects I don't understand. Finally I really don't now how to make a race.

If you want an NPC to move at a certain time, e.g. Standing on a certain tile, then use an NPC MOVE.

As for after dialogs... Hmmm...

CMD = 61
Data 1 = NPC ID
Data 2 = X Location
Data 3 = Y Location

And that should work.

I just feel like you're not even trying to figure it out. I've found out everything in the editor, and I'm a master of it (that includes dialog). I just got that feeling, and I wanted to explain it.

Also, why did you post all those "---antecedently put in and can't be deleted--s? You have to admit they're spam. MS will, I think, delete them.

What's the point in repeating info that's already been said? Did you read the topic before posting, or just hit PostReply immideatly?

If someone needs help, it should be given to them. I asked how to make hills, and I got an answer. Just in case the instructions were not understandable, heres the solution:

First, create the place you want the adventure in, and set the NPC (with ID: 1) and the player right next to eachother.

On the tile that the player starts in, put this object in:

Category: Buttons
Sub Category: NPC Move
Data1: 1
Data2: X cordinate goal (where the NPC moves to)
Data3: Y cordinate goal (where the NPC moves to too)

Do not change any other variables. Place the above object on the goal for the last one. Then repeat, with different goals. :D

Hope that helps,

Quick11

1.this forum is old.

2.you formula does not work unless the ID of the NPC is 1, what if you wanted an thwart to steal the indigo shard, but since the thwarts ID is 2, and Morklin's ID is 1, instead MORKLIN will steal the shard!

I know it only works if the ID is 1. You can inferance that you will change
the ID on a NPC and a NPC Move action. Quite an easy inferance.

Of course, what you wrote up there is pretty funny. And this is not for dialogue.

Quick11, do you have BBCode disabled? I noticed that the quotes in every one of your posts do not work. BBCode is what makes the
quotes,
bold, underline, italic, etc, work.

sorry to wake up the topic/thread but,

I found that the "race" winning condition is USELESS (!) because you pick up a STAR (!) in race levels where you also use NPC MOVE OR COMMAND 61 (!) unless the game automatically tells the npc with the lowest id to try to collect the star (impossible for npc to steal star) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (!)

Posted: Wed Apr 15, 2009 11:40 pm
by Qloof234
About that, you just want the NPC to block the way to the star, not to try to collect it.

I haven't tested this myself, but you might actually be able to (sort of) simulate the NPC getting the star by putting a GC button right before the star, with ActivateID set so that only the NPC can trigger the button. And then have the GC button run the CMD to either deactivate or destroy the star. With that setup, you can have the final NPC move command to target the location where the star is, and then the NPC will end up on that spot after the star has been deactivated or destroyed, making it look like the NPC took the star.

So, in essence, like the NPC picking up items trick? Cool.
