MOFI - Ace Gets Swamped

You know, I thought Ace was supposed to be helping. This guy needs a leash! Not really too sure which direction to head in and would appreciate a hint if available please.
I've managed to get across the green transporters with two grows left. Have figured out how to get the turtle to (a) activate the red button and end up in the water again near where he started (and get 1 green key) OR (b) activate the yellow and orange buttons and get the other green key... not both. Either way, I'm stuck for actually getting onto the middle bit.
Am I even on the right track? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I think you should have 3grows left when you enter. That way you can manouver the turtle to all buttons

Thanks Salin,
Will have a play with it and yell if I need more help.

Done the buttons and the turtles without reading the tips here.
By examaning the area around star more carefully I found the trick to reach it with the help of the turtle!

Has anyone else wondered if they're missing something here?! I've navigated the transporters, used my remaining grows to get the turtle across the buttons, and got onto the island, collected a couple of gems ... and now I'm baffled!
Someone please tell me I'm missing something really obvious!

Did you collect the 2 gems alone on the island?
Or the ones just south of Ace?

Well I must be brain dead coz I can't figure out where to stand to aim my grows. I've got across with 3 grows left but can't find a place to stand to throw the grows in the right places. Everywhere I stand something is blocking the way. I can see where I need them to be but not how to get them there. Totally confused.

Something moveable is blocking your way.....

I've used all 3 grows up directing the turtle to the buttons, and I've got the keys and popped up the bridge so I can go and get the 3 gems and get the star, but I can't get the 2 gems on the little ledge. Should I have saved a grow for that? Only I couldn't control the turtle with only 2 grows.
You have to use some nigty footwork placing those grows doncha?

I'm having the same problem here for those 2 gems.

Hint:
Think about the grow power.
A single grow lasts a long time. Multiple grows grown at the same time expire together. Some grows are grown in water, and some grows are grown on land. And the biggest groan of all............timing is everything.
I know it's a terrible hint, but it will give you something to think about.

When I'm out the teleporter, I only have 3 grows left.
They all are for stopping the turtle.
Idon't see what your hint could do the trick?

Excellent hint, Janet
@Erwin: Maybe you should consider
when you do what....

Erwin - I didn't bother with the two gems. I'll go back and collect gems at a later date.
Janet/Mette - the clue is bang on. Very subtle - although I'd already worked that bit out. It was just the last little bit - probably even more subtle - that I couldn't quite grasp.
But I'm there now!

I'm glad some one could understand it, it was rather cryptic.

I have no idea what you're talking about either. I can't get near that little ledge until I've done everything else and then I have no grows left. Here's where I'm using my 3 grows...
Step on white button and throw a grow to stop turtle walking straight down. Second grow to stop him turning left. Third one to trap him on the red timer button while I go and get the key, and fireflower blows up barrel.
Tell me if I'm doing this wrong please.

Ok guys... the two gems near the transporter have me stumped! I've read your cryptic clues... to no avail. Sorry. Timing is definately everything in this one... just cannot see how to either have 4 grows at the other side of the transporter or where to put the grows when other places become available.
Thanks for your assistance so far.

Hi guys.
Popo said:
I've got the keys and popped up the bridge
Well, I have the 2 keys. I have one grow left, thanks to JanetGalle (clever!). But how do I pop up the bridge?
I can see a square button that would probably do the job behind the door at the south. But the door is still up!

Your two keys open two gates that have the button behind them that opens the gate that has the bridge button behind it. Is that understandable?

And remember timing is everything!

It is indeed. I must have been sleeping on my mouse. A thousand thanks.

P.S.: That is quite a sentence. Could have been endless

really guys, I cannot save more than 3 grows after the first part.
This 3 (I think) I need to control the turtle, to make him go down to the red timerswitch and after to direct the turtle to the green and orange timer switches.
I take the two green keys, hit the second white switch and cross the water, but that is where I get stuck, so I don't know how to reach the star, let alone to reach the two last gems on the left side near the yellow transporter.
Help needed!!!

You need only two grows to turn the turtle. Timing is essential

How do I manage this??
