The Wonderland Board

I tried so many times but I failed.
Suddenly today I tried this level again and I was first to enter the 'village'.
But in the end the kaboom runs faster and he stands before the star first.

Maybe I need to be quicker. But I don't know where I must be faster?

Small hint:
There are two places that could be shortcuts.
One near the center of the long run and one near the entrance to the village.
