Lost Lake

I'm sure I'm missing something very obvious in Lost Lake, but how do you get TO the grow glove? I got the green key and lowered the green gate, but there are 3 watery spaces between me and the grow power. ???

Well, I knew my memory was poor, but this may be a new low. . .
I don't recall doing it, but obviously I had previously walked across the 3 barrels to the grow glove, then left the game without saving at the right place. SO, I went to another of my saved games and worked my way around so I could start the Lost Lake level from scratch.
NOW, my question has to do with that pesky turtle. . . I assume I'm supposed to get him into the water on the lower left side of the lake, so I can walk across him to get to that transporter. I've gotten him off his rectangle of land, across those barrels, and headed west. I've used grow magic in several different ways, but haven't been able to head him toward the water by the transporter.
Help, please???

Use yourself as a stopper, and one GROW to stop him from going down

Yes, that's just what I've been trying to do, but he turns and goes back the way he came. I am NO good with the turtles!!!

I haven't got it yet! It seems to me that that tree is right in the way of where the turtle needs to go - heading west to the corner of the lake. I tried deflecting him north just past the tree, but a grow in the water to deflect him west doesn't work - he just stops once he is in the water and hits something. And I just can't see a way to get him to the correct spot!

Stan at the edge of shore, SW of transporter. step three down. (this is your spot when you do the next move:) Goal is to direct the turtle so he goes right up towards transporter. Place one GROW SE of your position, and use yourself as a stopper W of his path.

DUHHH.....It seems so obvious now! I was driving myself crazy trying to route him through the water. Thanks!
