Originally, there was a different kind of Fire Flower that shot this red/crimson homing missile spell. In the end, it landed on the cutting room floor, but the magic was left ingame.

Of course, thanks to cbloopy, it's possible to get the FireFlower to use this magic.

In WA, when MS was first designing it, they thought the FireFlowers should act as red homing missiles, so they coded the red magic. Afterwards, they cut it, (while still leaving the coding) and made them shoot POW balls. So that is why you can get homing missile magic in the Editor!

I can understand why MS cut it. It's so frustrating having to dodge their fire (YEAH Jdl).

In POW Training 201, yea. But that wasn't as hellish as it was in one of Dlcs's adventures for MoPI

You can use hacking to use the Orange power (POW) too.

The only thing the (Red) homing missile power is more useful than POW is its ability to shoot backwards. As such, if you need to aim at something that is round corners and unreachable, you can use teleporters to guide the fireball around and hit the obstacle.

Now that all that's been cleared up, I have two more questions:
1. I've already played one level by Serlan that featured the Crimson magic (WA 3 Part 3.) Frankly, I really don't think one level is enough- can someone make more?
2. I'm not sure if this is going too far, and I will edit this post if it is, but I think we should come up with a name for this magic.

1. There are quite a few levels using this magic. An example is "Red Magic Cavern" which is built entirely around that magic.
2. At the moment we call it "Homing missile".

I think "Crimson Magic" is the best name thus far that anyone has come up with.

I had the same problem when I released my "Red Magic Cavern" adventure. I didn't really want to call it "Red Magic" but I couldn't think of anything better.

Maybe "BOUNCE"?

While the word bounce has nothing to do with shooting fire it does have something to do with the magic 'bouncing' back to you.
