Working on this one, but haven't yet found a way to keep the propulsion units running continuously.
Back later ...
EDIT: Used a different toolkit and got it all running smoothly.
Chip, thanks for another totally brilliant puzzle. Enjoyed every minute of working it out!

CARDAN SHAFT HB-38 FOR STEAMSHIPS (MANUAL)
Chapter I: Setup
1. Stop the pressure input.
2. Close both pressure valves (1 x up and 1 x in).
3. Con rod 3: Boulder D, blue sphere D
4. Get coin L of central black TP.
5. Con rod 4: Red sphere D, boulder L.
6. Con rod 1: Yellow sphere D (don't move boulder yet).
7. Push left pressure valve 2xR.
8. Con rod 2: Green sphere D, boulder R.
9. Get coin R of central black TP.
10. Con rod 1: Boulder R. ---> Ready!
Chapter II: Maintenance
Our device is self-cleaning and lipid regulating. No maintenance required.

How do you keep the white timer open. The rolling balls was easy to get but Cant get the last coin to exit. Thanks

Hi Annie
Try to blow up the keg and the wooden box in the stern of the ship.
This will start the propeller and the boulder, that opens the white timer.

That was a really fun level to work out. The hints with the white timer was all the help I needed. I should of known to use the cannons. Thanks

Thanks for publishing the set-up for the Cardan Shaft. I might have been able to work it out but sometimes it's easier to read the manual.
No major problems with the white timer, fortunately.
