WA3 Crowd Sourcing: Planet Views [Closed]

Here's a third entry in the WA3 crowd sourcing project. I think this one should be a lot of fun just to play around with.

At some point in the game (not telling when) there will be some exterior shots of various planets. I've put together a little tool that allows you to try out different planet and (optional) cloud textures to see what this might look like.

Would you like to see your planetary/stellar creation appear in WA3?

If so, unzip the attached file in a directory, and play around with planet.jpg and clouds.jpg. If you don't want a cloud layer, simple make clouds.jpg all black.

The included example shows what e.g. a world like Barren might look like. This was just put together quickly, it's likely not the final version.

Planets don't have to be from the game (i.e. you don't have to make worlds based on the screenshots so far), so let your imagination run wild. I am not 100% sure how many and what types of planets (or other stellar objects!?!) I will end up using, but if you want to contribute, your planet might well end up in WA3 (with credit, of course).

Deadline for this - Mid June.

With this one, feel free to post your entries in this thread, rather than emailing me.

Here's what an entry should look like: the attached jpgs of the planet and cloud texture (if used), as well as one jpg of the planet as seen from the program. (remember to attach them in reverse order, so that they show up in this order in the post - no big deal, but would look better)

For example... here's my example world:

This is more of a test planet than anything, but it's still pretty cool! :)

Was hoping someone would notice. :P

Edit: I also just noticed the unintentional Bulbasaur that's on it too.

This one is a mysterious blue planet, comparable to Neptune or Uranus.

Dude, that's awesome! (This was referring to SS01's planet, which was awesome.)

EDIT: Are multiple entries allowed? Because I kinda wanna play with this planet maker, despite my bad art skills.

Also, DEVINT's entry inspired me to take a different approach to the same concept. Observe:

After a bit of tries, and being inspired by SS01's project, there's another good blue planet:

I'd put a lot of work into an idea that didn't look good and ended up making something really weird and dumb out of it, and to feel like my time wasn't wasted I made this volcanic planet. Enjoy???

EDIT: WHOOPS WRONG CLOUDS WHAT THE HECK

EDIT: Fixed.

I thought I'd try making one without the cloud layer.

It kind of looks like Jupiter a little bit.

I seriously doubt that you'll use this, but for fun, I made a LittleZbot Planet. The Planet is my current avatar and the clouds is a previous avatar.

Was just messing around with maze and circuit geometry and difference noise, and this came out of it. This is some kind of artificial construct the Z-Bots made or something, which is rusting in spots.

OK, two of my entries, one being Earth-like forested planed, the second is Jupiter-like gas giant with no clouds.

If anyone would like to have a better quality textures of my planets I can send you PNG versions, as JPG images lose quality during uploading.
