Am I correct in thinking this is done with only three of the cannons. I am trying every way I can think of and keep coming up short. I know I can't get all four out.

I realise that you don't have to have all the machines working at once, but I haven't come up with a viable solution yet

Here are a few hints for this one:

1. In the beginning you have to destroy one of the cannons. But which one?
2. To gain the emperors interest you have to perform his task without getting violent.
3. So destroy the cannon that is obviously here to 'kill' somebody.

Big spoiler: Destroy the upward pointing cannon, because you can solve the level without harming the poor chompers.

I was actually selecting the correct cannon to destroy, but after that I got my shots lined up wrong and was showing no mercy. After that I couldn't get that last cannon into place.
