Finally got all the coins and bought all 7 keys. But I've looked everywhere and can't find anywhere to use them. Where are the golden gates?

In the area of Star Town just above where you bought the keys from, is a house on the left with water around it. Go behind the house and stand near the water. A star (the one called Shiny I think) will come and open a bridge for you, then you can go over the bridge and down a long path to the gates.

Shiny is the star at the Deep Space Tunnel, so nope, it isn't him.

Just look out for a grey star that will come by when you reach the area near the water separating you from the golden gate. Talk to him and he will raise rainbow bridges for you.

I am unable to find the grey/silver star to raise the bridge to get to the golden gates. Can anyone help? I have all the stars and keys needed, can't catch the purple star (any hints?) and can't get the blue flower until that is completed (I think). Can anyone help me??

Someone else referred to the silver star in Suntown, is that an error? I thought it was called Star Town?

The grey/silver star only comes out every now and then. Wait on the west side of the map for him to appear.

When you say the west side of the map do you mean in the same screen, where the golden gates are visible? Thanks SOOO much!

Wait around the area where the water leading to the gold gates is.
I kinda got it by chance. I was waiting at that area, thinking, how should I get across, when I saw the grey star stop for a while. I went to talk to it, and he brought the rainbow bridges up.

And it is Star Town, not Suntown.

I just went around the back of the house with the water round it and the star came to me, I didn't have to go looking for him. I talked to him and he opened the bridge.
