Well, here's what I did and now I'm too tired to keep experimenting:

8. Restarted, tried again, after 1st spark, but this time used Floing on centre and went across top and down to Flash skipping Grow. Heard loud explosion upon approach of Flash.
Judging by the shard sound I suggest brig means ring, since certain sail-ships had bells of sorts.

Now it's time for you to figure out the given message
in the order of 2,1,3.
Note: Explosion noises are bad.

I don't think I did brig right considering I heard that explosion moments after the ring. And I did the hints in order 3,2,1 so I'm not sure what else there is besides hearing the badness of explosions.
