The 9x9 level challenge!
Posted: Mon Apr 04, 2016 11:48 pm
by cloudrac3r
The challenge:
- Create a level in a 9x9 area of floor. If you were to put walls around the outside, it would measure 11x11.
- It does not have to be challenging, but it must be fun!
- You can use any number of characters
- All the character(s) enter from a hole in the wall
- The objective is to collect
ONE rainbow coin and then come out the entrance
- You may include bonus coins if you want
Once you have made the level, add it as an attachment in a reply. (You can do that, right? I hope so.)
IF YOU ARE CONFUSED or you CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO READ ALL THAT TEXT then here's an image of an example level which should hopefully clear things up:

You can click it for a bigger version!
8 of the levels will be picked for a
secret special thing!!!!
I hope you enjoy the challenge!

Hi cloudrac3r
I just saw your post and made a 9x9 level with one coin.
It does take a bit of practice, but it is possible to solve.
Have Fun!

NEW LEVEL - Cloudra3r Challenge
What a fun challenge, and I'm sure others could have a go.
This one is very easy, but I haven't made a level in a long time.

Mark - at the moment I'm still practicing, and getting lots of:
"Wa Wa Wa Waaaaaaa"
I know it's possible. Got past 4 of the blighters so far.
One day I'll do it .... ... ... ... ... ...

Well that took me not 100, but about 1000 tries - but finally Stinky saved the 3 others from their dizziness.

Hi Liz,
I didn't find your 9x9 very easy.
'Twas was a thoughtful conundrum.

And I enjoyed every minute of it.
Thank you for keeping my insomnia company.

Liz: Really neat level, took me about 10 minutes to figure it out. A very neat challenge with the trampolines!
Mark: *sigh* I'll get it one day...

Hi Cloudrac3r,
It cost me more than 100 lives and a very sore finger... so don't feel bad.

I did actually. Nice, simple and fun.
I completed the level on my first try, but only got 1 bonus coin. After a few moments of thinking, they collected all 4 and exited the pretty garden.
Thanks for the level!

Thanks Liz, Stinky used one of the kabooms to exit safely.
New Level - MY OWN LEVEL! HA HA HA!

Guess I may as well make one, right?!
Here it is.
It's easy to finish, but getting the bonus points can be murderous (literally).

Hi Chip,
What an elegant design with the perfect puzzle.

I did the wrong side and missed the bonus coins.
Then I did the correct side and got a gold star!
Thank you Chip!

Hi Cloud, hi Liz
Just found the time to play your levels and enjoyed them a lot.
Thanks for the fun.

These were fun to play and with the exception of one level (there's a restart issue) I came away with the gold.
Thank-you all,

Hi Chip and Liz
I enjoyed your puzzles.
Hi Cloud,
I worked on all but the bonus coins. Thanks for the idea.
Hi Mark,
I enjoyed watching your video : )
I'll make my own 9x9 level soon.

Chip - I loved your elegant level layout. Getting all 4 bonus coins took a couple more restarts. Thanks so much.
Cloud - Weren't you the person who asked for easier levels?
I didn't think any of this was easy, and after a lot of squelchy dying on the spikes I still haven't got the bonus coin. Thanks for the trial!

Well, completeting the level itself is easy, right?
Anyway, there's a trick to it...
...There's a fake wall in a useful place!
Still need help? It can be found...
...directly above the timer button. Try walking into it from above.
Yes, it's cheaty and unfair, I agree. Sorry about that.
Oh, how are you going with Mark's level?

New Level - Desert Dilemma
At the request of Cloudrac3r, I'm submitting another 9x9.
This offering is a variation of my "Worlds to be Invented".
And hopefully,
this one shouldn't be that difficult to solve.

I actually managed to do it in the end, after many boxes getting stuck in the corners.
Thanks for the fun challenge!

I thought I would go back into the editor and shake the cobwebs off.
It should not be difficult...I hope.
I did not enter the characters from a hole in the wall but seeing some of the other contributions that rule doesn't seem very hard and fast.

Nice puzzle, Bob.
I hope it was your intention to kill the bad dude by its own fire because that's what I did.

I did the sam as Annon. I think your intention was for Stinky to guide him into the fireball, but I couldn't figure out how.
Thanks for the fun, and the gold star!

Hi Bob,
Guess I must have solved your "Lifeboat" differently.
I had Fire-Stinky walk into the flame on the right side.
So I didn't need that extra break-tile to exit later.
Either way, a good puzzle Bob!
Thank you!
