Fire island is not really an island!

I notice that in beach areas on fire island, if you use the spy-eye, you will discover that all water areas's are fully surrounded by a grass wall boundary. Why is this.

There is no option for the background of a wlv to be anything other than walls, so the water around the beaches is big enough to create the illusion that it is water in all directions.
This is just a technical setback.
...although it would be nice to change the border of levels... aryan where you at?

I also had that idea... but it will actually be too hard for me to do this.
(and I don't have age/experience/skill in coding 3D, most of that work was done by Alex and micman so I think they may be able to do this

)

I have no much experience in 3d coding too, but I have some ideas of how I could implement this. I was also thinking of making the system a bit more flexible and give an option for background to copy the appearance of edge/corner tiles, instead of just having predefined wall, water etc. options.

You read my mind! What we can do here is that the background will be the copy of the edge and corner tiles... This will even make the levels better than before (for e.g. you can create beaches using this feature very well).
However seeing the complexity of level model creation code, I think it will be difficult to make (for us).
Anyone here has experience in 3D coding with Blitz3D?

Previously, we couldn't, but now we can! There's a new feature in the modded editor. It allows you to make the border
any tile you want.

Something even weirder exists in the first Wonderland Adventures game after you collect the yellow shard. The textures at the boundary look like that from some of the arcade games.

That's because the greyscale plains tiles are actually located on the arcade texture set. You can verify this by going to the game folder, and going to Data/Graphics (or /LevelTextures in MOFI and POTZ) and opening mfwfmufy bctusbdu.wdf (leveltex abstract) using an image viewer.
