SW Explosions level

I can get Loof out but I end up using all the prisms and the rock isn't any help. I finally looked at the solutions but it didn't make any sense could someone please help me learn the errors of my thinking?

Hi TOOT,
Here's a little something to get you started
SPOILER (highlight to read)
Move prism #1 all the way left. Move prism #2 one square left.
Move prism #1 to the green X. Let the cannon fire.
Move prism #3 to the white X. Move prism #4 one square up.
Roll the boulder left - down - left - down.
Move prism #4 to the yellow X.
Move prism #2 to the blue button.
Roll the boulder right.
Move prism #3 from the white X to the blue X.
Roll the boulder up (it should now be on the green X).
Roll the boulder right.
