Origins of name Stinky

Thanks to the bonus pictures Patrick gave to all the contestants in the Small World callenge, I now know the origins of the name Loof. But I don't remember any discussion on Stinky's name.
Why is he called Stinky? Is that his real name or a nickname? Does he not shower much, or is it a gas problem? How does he feel about his own name? He seems like a pretty happy guy for someone called Stinky!
