New Level - Adventure in Space

Hi Wonderlanders,
EARTHDATE:- 30th September 2050
As you are aware, major advances in space travel over the last 30 years have enabled exploration bases to be established on every planet within our Universe.
Indeed it was only 2 months ago that the last of these was set-up on our furthest planet - Pluto.
It is then with grave concern that I must inform you that earlier today the following coded message was received from that base:-
'Detfk gkk¡'fe uersdfg pyugws erd kfndklk ..........'
What?..... Oh yes, sorry...... Decoded it reads:-
Star-Boat (SB53) boarded and now in the control of Aliens. STOP.
They have set co-ordinates for planet Earth. STOP.
They are threatening to attack all planets within our Universe. STOP.
Only officer MLF045, and myself SKY029, remain - we will use the transport boat - we WILL do our best. STOP.
The persons so mentioned are 2 of our newest officers - Captain Stinky and Engineer McLoof.
Our future lies in their hands (or should that be your fingers?).
Their task will NOT be an EASY one.

He sure doesn't.
Captain's Log: Stardate 256314
I sadly have to report that Engineer McLoof failed to make it , on
several occasions.

We did, however, in the end, complete the mission.
Great stuff, Malc; this done my head in.

Very clever puzzle.
And since they got a lot of practice here, a suggestion for your next level:
Stinky and Loof: Removal Men (mirrors a speciality).

So frustrating!! And unfortunately for me, I am the type of person that can't quit till I complete it. I just can't move on!! Any tips??

You & me both! I love Malc's levels - this one's a doozy! Everyone else seems to have figured it out, so I guess I'll just keep on pluggin' along!!

Hi Wonderlanders,
Not 'everyone' Majic1 - only Bearsland seems to have completed this level so far.
Congrats Bearsland - I thought that you might well be the first
Honestly Wonderlanders, I do not make my levels difficult just for the sake of it. As much as I enjoy playing every type of level created for this Forum, I admit that the more complex (difficult) they are and the more of a challenge it is for me to complete them, then the greater the satisfaction when I finally 'crack it'
Subsequently I just tend to make levels that I myself favour.
(But then as my wife, Jan, would say 'Your too logical for your own good sometimes'

)
I apologise if anyone is getting frustrated by this level.
Anyway, it's a little early in the life of this level to give a full solution, but if anyone wants a hint on any specific part (Danell7) - just let me know where you are getting stuck.
It is worth taking a note of Engineer McLoof's comment 'We have no weapons Captain Stinky' - best create one then

Hi Wonderlanders,
Majic1 - in your earlier post when you say 'Im almost there' - is that in solving this level or getting DESPERATE ?? Maybe it's both
Maureen - I thought you were still halfway down the Valley of Quests
In the original version of this level I had both of the lower UFO's a position NEARER the Star-Boat - that did require quick fingers
Oh yes, my wife adores me - thats what I keep telling myself anyway

Yes, just a pity those Scouges are facing the wrong way.

You need good timing.
I'll say it again, great level Malc.

Hi Maureen,
I hadn't completely forgotten about this level but I must admit that as this thread was half-way down page 2 (due to the proliffic level production at the mo) I did assume that no further posts would be forthcoming.
I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER - You just don't give-up - Many congrats on getting there - John is probably the most pleased though
What I find strange is that to-date this level has had 61 downloads, yet my Indiana level has had 103
I appreciate that these figures are no longer 100% true (due to the ability to download the Zip file) but a difference of 42 downloads seems large - maybe Indiana put players off my levels
My World Level - Andalucia - is all-but complete - THE PUZZLES WILL NOT BE TOO HARD
Anyway, well done again - 1950 'A Vintage year'

Well malc, I think anyone who doesn't download your levels must be either KRAZY or FEART' tee hee.
I know they can be really difficult but boy, the feeling of satisfaction when you solve them.
OB seems to be right on top with them, he is so clever.... Of course, I believe he is also a Scot!
Didn't you say a while back that you RETIRED to Spain?
Tell me your secret, you are just a young thing!

I quit looking to see how many download my levels, because if it's not as many as before, or as someone else gets-----I feel pouty
Maybe some people out there are getting tired of the game....or have a life outside of Wonderland..................I have heard of some sick people in the world like that
Fear not----when they come back, and you know they will-----they will see what they were missing and come home

Thank you Maureen for your kind words. I'm not really that clever though. (I couldn't author a level for toffee).

I just enjoy mind games of all sorts and Wonderland is one of the better ones about. The special thing about this version is that with the level editor allowing people to share their ideas and levels, I get to play puzzles set by people other than the original game's authors.
So many clever people here who I'll bet never thought or realised they had it in them to set such marvelous puzzles. Malc, majic, BigZ, DG, Carolyn, ol' gramma, eeyore, janetg, popo, etc... I'm talking about you guys.
Adding all the levels in Wonderland, RTW and custom levels together means I have played over 400 great little puzzles. I've solved every single one of them and I'm nowhere near bored yet. Like you, I still get an immense feeling of satisfaction when I complete one.

PS. Yes, I am a Scot; have lived in London though for the last 16 years.

Hi Wonderlanders,
Sorry to all of you who thought this was yet another new level by me
but this post is for an experiment only.
Whilst I was back in the UK a posting was made to my 'Arise Sir Stinky'
level which brought it from the depths back upto the top of page 1
Well within the next week the number of downloads rose fron 87 (where it had been for over a month) to 119
I assume this is because between us we make so many levels that newcomers rarely need to go past page 1 for a couple of new levels to play each day
NOW - as this level has been stuck on 99 downloads (residing on page 6

) I am interested to see :-
a/ how long it now takes to get that 1 download to get to 100
b/ how many downloads it has before getting relegated to page 2 etc.
Silly really - but then so am I

Well, I see the level is now up to 110 downloads, so this must be working! It's not at all surprising that newcomers would not be able to find all of these levels -- I visit this forum almost every day, and I frequently miss levels. There are so many, it's just overwhelming! I have dozens of levels that I haven't finished yet, many dozens. And then I have that huge folder of levels that I'm saving for when I get smarter, which is where I usually have to put your levels, Malc! (Oh, isn't that amusing -- I still think I'm going to get smarter, when the reality is senility is more likely to set in before I ever catch up on all of these levels.)

I had missed this level also.
I am just as stuck as they were when it was first posted.
Give me a moment I will get through it,... I have faith in that,..LOL.

Am I late posting on this?
I've been running through several of your old levels, Malc and really enjoying the challenge, 'Just 3 Coins', 'The W.W.1 Dance', etc. but this one was a true challenge that I just had to comment on!
I knew what I had to set-up but it was no easy task, I was hoping one of the UFOs would provide what I needed, damn aliens...you can never count on them!
I have a few more of yours that I'm going to take a run at and I won't post on all (although if I need a hint, I might have to PM you) but I wanted to say thanks and remind everyone that there are some great challenging levels in the archives!

Hi bob,
Thanks for the comments
Of course PM me if you need to - mind you - it might take me a day or 2 to replay and complete a malcdelsol level so that I can be of assistance
