problems with custom content

Post by uneekrose » Sat Dec 30, 2006 2:35 pm

Not sure if this is the right board for this but...........I've been playing some of Lillian's (Lillie) older games and when I go to load them I keep getting an error message and have to hit escape. Their .lvl5 levels and I haven't had any other .lvl5 problems.

Lillian74-Icing Sugar
Lillian76-Turkish Delight
Lillian77-Chocolate Button

error message:
couldn't load texture: custom model\chocbuttons\model2.jpg, flag1

The models are there where their supposed to be, I've even deleted the levels and models and re-downloaded them but get the same problem.

Maybe some one else would take a look and see if it happens to them or has some suggestions. I just know someone is dying of curiosity to try them. Please...............

Hi Monica :D

Do you have the Platinum upgrade that replaces dodgy textures with an existing standard Wonderland texture?

I am no expert on models/textures believe me! I have a funny feeling I made these yonks ago myself by just finding a texture and copying it into someone else's existing texure. It could be that they need re-sizing to be compatible with the Platunum edition ????? I do not have a clue how to do this because I just copied these from someone else's texture

I don't even have these textures in my customtextures folder anymore :( Perhaps some kind soul would be kind enough to re-size them if you posted them on this thread?

Sorry hon - I am a dork when it comes to models as I do not have any software for it, only Paint :D

Hope that someone else comes to your rescue and thanks for playing my old levels (I just pray that you don't come looking for help because they are long forgotten in my brain) :D

That problem usually occurs when the graphics are the wrong sizes. Have you changed computers or graphics cards recently?

It can be rectified by finding the jpgs in question and resizing them to fit the power of 2 protocol, i.e. 64x64, 128x128, 256x256, 512x512, etc.

If you don't have the software to do it yourself then PM me the jpgs and I'll do it for you. :D

Yes, I have the latest upgrade, I even tried to play the levels with the old game. I went into the editor and just removed the custom content since Wonderland doesn't automatically load the default on mine. And that works fine, the levels are playable. (I thought it was supposed to if it didn't find the custom stuff) I just love the custom stuff though.

You did make these eons ago and I've only got about 100 more of your old levels to play... Of course I've been checking the editor if I need any help, (hope you don't mind) I figured you'd be wracking your brain if I asked for any, plus I check out the posts but ya'all didn't give out to many hints back in the ole' days.

I tried resizing but no luck, still wouldn't load. So I'll just remove the custom stuff through the editor and trudge onward. Thanks Lillie

Some of the older levels were the best....still

Hi Monica,

I've fixed the texture size for these models and included
a link to a free utility to resize any future ones.

Thank you so very much Mark. That solved my problem. I downloaded the resizing program also (just in case). I have several programs on my pc but that looks like it would be more convenient and easier to use. Now I can enjoy the custom stuff in the levels. That was so nice of you. Thanks again......
