Model Idea for my "DarSewer" Texture

Post by mqdar » Tue Mar 13, 2007 7:07 pm

I've thought once, "Would someone be able to make two pipe models that go under the water. They will go in two directions:
Horizontily, and vertically. Don't make them too low, or else they won't be seen under the water.".
The pipes have to be dark green. Could anyone make these models?

Well, would the pipes be thin ones...
Or would they be thick ones?

Thick. The circle shape on them would nearly touch the edges of a wallside.

Well, I'm not sure if this what you wanted, but i have tried very hard. If you need me to change it, just say so. :) NOTE: I haven't posted the model yet, waiting until you confirm this is what you wanted

I think that you've put in more work than you needed to!
The pipe will be the same circle shape the whole way. There will be no bumps.
The one under the water is fine, but when I meant vertical, I still meant under
the water, just from left to right.

Hmm... those looks pretty nice! Just wondering, where is the "deadspot" (where it can't be stepped on)? :)

On the underwater one, it's right at the center. On the up-down one, it's to the side a bit, so it probably isn't cenntered on a square :) I'll get to work on your request now :)

Sorry about double post here.

I'm doing some experimenting, it isn't going very well.
I think that I'll have this done soon :D

Ok. Sorry about triple-posting, but I've already got something. I've put the letter that corresponds to each pipe on top of it. And do what the screenshot says - Ignore the pillar. The deadspot for each is at the center. I've also included a cross pipe in case you need it. Tell me if you like it, then I'll post the model. :D

Oh, I like that idea with the cross pipe. :D
I'm also glad that you have left a model4.3ds that I can turn into an empty model, because placing an empty model can be like putting
an "X" tile on a piece of water.
You can post the model now.
Just one question: How many tiles long are the pipes?

actually the model4.3ds is none-existent. I'll turn it into an empty model afterwards.

I've already turned it into an empty model.

In the first of the two screenshots below, you can see that the pipes do not
fit a tile size, making it impossible to get it looking right, I think.
In the second one (which might fix the first problem), you see that the pipe is a bit too far right, which doesn't help either.
I don't know if you want to fix that, but would you?

I would if I could, but I don't really know what you mean. If you mean it's too thick I'll get on it soon.

I like the first pipes

Post by jobec5 » Fri Mar 16, 2007 5:39 pm

(EDIT) I dont know if you read this earlier Loof and I apologise, but dont go to any trouble for me as I have decided to stop making levels for a good long time. Thank you. You are a very talented young person. (END EDIT)

Loof 101

I really thought that the first pipes you made and posted here looked super, perhaps not for what Darshan had intended. But I hope you saved your model file. These would be fun to try with an industrial texture like Metal3 or something else. Could you please post the model zip file for these pipes, if you have it? Thank you.

jobec5-I wish I could. I got rid of the original as I didn't see any use of it, and it only took up space. Sorry.
mqdar-I have a lot of work to do at home with my mom being in england, so when i did this I knew i was taking up some of my free time. After I put a lot of effort into doing the first version, you criticized my model. Then I had to start over almost entirely, which took a long time to get right. now you're telling me there's a problem with it?!?! I can't believe this. Here are the reasons why:
-You never said please
-You never said thank-you
-You criticized my work after i said i put a lot of time and effort on it
-You're saying there's a problem with it
-You are rude to the adults and some of the kids on this forum
If you want it fixed, deal with it. I've already put all the effort I'm willing to give into the pipes.

Do you like these ones? (They fit one tile each)
