New Level - The Forest Express - UPDATED!!!

Post by Lucky-Luc » Thu Jan 05, 2006 12:57 pm

This one is for Amadeus, who always finds incredible glitches.

In this level there's also a glitch, you'll see.

I think it's one of my best levels... So, you can guess, it's hard

To say it like Amadeus: Stinker rating 10/10

Enjoy

EDIT: Uploaded new Version - Now, can you still find shortcuts, Amadeus?

EDIT 2: Since nobody but Amadeus can solve it, I changed the stinker rating to 10/10

Is the glitch preventing me from exiting? I collected all the coins but can't pass the last bit of water :?

Hi Lukas!

Just completed your brilliant puzzle! :D :D :D
Though I'm not sure if I solved it the way you intended.

As for the glitch. It's the same one that makes boxes appear invisible in the water.
There are many objects you can place parallel on the left side (example: a flame) that will trigger it.
I noticed my traffic light signal in your level, and a very clever variation on the ice path trick.
I did not need one of the trampolines, or the ice patch near the three spheres.
That's why I suspect my solution was slightly different.

I am very honored to have this dedicated to me.
It's one of the best mental workouts I've had in a long time!

Thanks!!!

OK, Mark, here's a new version, even harder than the first one. Good Luck!

SPOILER:
Exactly. As I said, I combined three small glitches:
- Sinking kegs: If you put a powder keg on water in the editor, it's not floating as it normally does. It's sinking, so that you still have to push another box into the water
- Rainbow Spirits and kegs: Mette posted this glitch some time ago. If a Rainbow Spirit is on the same row left of a powder keg in water, it will explode and the powder keg gets invisible
- Last but not least: Trasporter and half-filled water: If there's one "heavy" box (=> boxes that sink) in the water, a trasporter will stop there
So, now you know how to get to the exit, don't you?

Hi Lukas,

Haven't succeeded yet on the new version.
You've made quite a few changes to it.
I'll will have to create a new strategy.

EDIT: Yeah!!! Just finished solving it! Though, I'm not sure
if I did it the intended way. In my solution I preserved the
powder keg for later. But I did use the ice patch near the
three spheres this time. Had to trap Kaboom in a very strange
place this time.

I can't even finish the first version. And now there's a harder one? Like others, I can get all the coins, but can't get to the exit, or find an alternate exit, if that's the case.

No alternate exit; belive me, it's possible (Mark also knows) to enter this exit

Hint: Linked Spheres can't float? Are you sure?

I could get the coins on the first version but couldn't exit. Now I have no chance of getting it

Hi Lucky-Luc,

I only returned from a month in the UK on Friday and then I spent yesterday installing and playing the official 20 Platinum levels

This morning I downloaded some 70+ plus custom levels to see what you have all been doing with the new features.

I made this the first level to play as you rated it a 10/10

An excellent level it is too BUT it can be solved using pure logic (ignoring all 'glitches' ) by some clever manouvering of the yellow boulders/metal boxes.

I never used the green boulder generator

Thanks for an excellent challenge - now onto the other 69+
