What a fun competition this has been! Thanks Lillypad and Poparoundforacuppa. You did an ace job organizing all this! 8)

CONGRATULATIONS THE CAT
:stinkyhappy: :stinkycool: :stinkyhappy:
What a perceptive lady you are.

I should have stuck with my first instincts all along  :( . I knew that 19a/b must be Mahaloof's. Who else could invent such a crazy story? But hubby said - no way is that place in Holland! So then I looked for a Dutch looking house (I'd already guessed Rosie's) - and ended up choosing Bobster's. I'd never have guessed that very cute house was in Canada.

I was also thrown by the Scarecrow reference - thought it had to be Amy with her Wizard of Oz links.

Guessed Janetgalle's house, but not from the clues but from the pic of Stinky standing in front. I thought - who's good with graphics? And that house certainly wasn't in Sheffield. Could have been Bob, but it didn't look Canadian.

All you guys Stateside have gorgeous looking houses. Anything like that would cost millions in the UK. I feel quite envious, but I do love living where I am - there's no place like home. :D

PS: Mahaloof. Thanks for the level and for sharing your photo with us. Your avatar is an uncannily good likeness  This is the first level I've played for weeks and I'm enjoying it loads. The steel box puzzle is excellent, and the ice block puzzle has left me somewhat bruised. At the moment I'm stuck at the wooden box area. I saw your picture by jumping over and standing on the relevant buttons. One day, I might actually complete a Mahaloof level - I have high hopes! :D

Taj Mahaloof, I like that, Ann. :)

I see that everybody guessed their own house, except Ann. Considering they move around a lot* and the background changes all the time, it's not that strange.

Although Salin's clue seemed pretty simple, with all the spilleng mistakkes being made by everyone except me, it's acceptable that some missed it. I found it a prettty smart clue.

Popo has said earlier she lives in a hovel, so I figured she's either in my place (and I haven't seen her lately), or it's # 14. For all older Brits: the pic reminds me of the house where Norman Wisdom lives in that wonderful comedy "On the Beat".
I hope you got down on one knee Mahaloofy and proposed in true style
Gee, I went down on ALL my knees and it was still not good enough!
PS Lutzy - watch out! You know what they say about men who love the Sound Of Music
Yes, I know: they sing an awful lot. :D :D :D :D
The puzzles were brilliant. If all your levels are like this Loofah I might start playing again.
Well, they're not, and my experience sofar has been quite frustrating. Nobody even responded to Coffeetable 3....
But I'm thinking about a new strategy and style. I'll be back...

* --- I mean they move from place to place quite a lot, not that they move around a parking lot all the time. That would be silly.....

Salin...I guessed from the clue.
Kaz.....also from the clue.
Loirae....beautiful pic....guessed from the clue
kiki....wrong guess, good thing you live where it's warm,
any snow/ice on that slope and you'd be sliding like a stinker!
Rose...I knew it wasn't a US home, so I just guessed.
Liz.....from the clue.
Laura...wrong here too, I should have guessed from the yard decorations
that children live here. Hows Emily?
Amy....wrong again....I should have known from the clue.
Uneekrose....wrong again.....what is that lovey giant plant with the pink
floweres?
jcvalcar...wrong...looks like you are out in the country, lots of yard!
Lillie.......wrong......my brain was dead, should have gotten the clue.
Bob....I got this not from the clue but from the writing you added to the
pic.
popo.....from the clue....was this intentional..."pop over for a cuppa"
The Cat....from the clue.
Annie....from the clue, and the pic, we did see this somewhere before.
Dunc....wrong here again...I thought it was not from the US but who who
who?
dylan....wrong....good clue, bad guess.
Mahaloof....who else could it have been?

As to my house.....no I'm not moving, visiters always welcome.

Yes and No. the sunset wasn't touched up. The house was. It was too dark to see against that wonderful sunset so I had to lighten it up a little. It was the only picture I could find and the camera was missing.

We get sunsets like that all the time and I just love it!

That is called a hibiscus rose-aka-confederate rose, it comes back every year, blooms light and dark pink flowers. One of my hubby's favorites.

Dear Mr. Taj Maloofy - I'm afraid I'm stuck (in your latest level, that is).

I was getting on so well. I just love the metal box puzzle, especially as I managed to solve it. I thought after that, everything would be just hunky dory, and it was. I even breezed through the ice cube section, but after that there seemed only one way to go - and what did I hear but the ominous sound of boulder hitting boulder.

Hence my cry for help. Has anyone else had the same problem, or am I the only one who can't get through this ?

Just a little hint please, and then I'll continue on my way.

In advance, many thanks.

If you're talking about boulder hitting boulder at the end of that ice crossing, the sound is probably a good thing. That is not your way out of that part of Mahaloof's past. Look for another route (not hidden walls) and see if you get any farther. :D

Yes I was stuck here for a long time until the  came on. You need to repeat something in order to be able to get to the next bit. I still have no idea why there was a boulder there at all unless it was a red herring. I was missing 4 bonus coins at the end though so maybe the boulder had something to do with them?!? :?

As far as I could tell, the boulder took you to another memory of his. don't remember there being any coins there, but some interesting reading.

This is exactly what devious puzzle makers like Lil, Keek, Kaz and certain unnameables are counting on: you draw a conclusion and then get stuck in it. I think your mind will have to make a little jump here .....
Good luck!

Ooooooh Nooooo ! Is the site closed already ? ... Just popped in to compare my scores with clues and photos to see where I went wrong and it's gawn :(

I see you've all had a ball while I was away this week. I did find 3 Internet CAfes but my little sis banned me from entering any of them - very wise in hindsight, I'd have been in there a lot - it's taken me ages to catch up 8)

I'll have a go at relating my efforts from memory

Laura & Janet - got you two mixed up. It was just a gut feeling with those but now I read Janet's clue again and it's obvious now - very subtle

CathyIII and Keeks - got you two mixed up. The "spheres" clue had me convinced it was one of you so I tossed a coin in the end, Keeks won the gorgeous house in the country (v nice Cathy) and I lost 2 points in one go

Amy25 and Dylan - got you two mixed up. (dya see a pattern emerging here? ) I was so sure I got Amy right due to the Wizard of Oz quote. Wasn't one of your clues the "wheat states" - I racked my brains from Geogrpahy lessons err .. a-hem .. 22years ago  and couldn't remember where they were ....

Inger - that bit I did remember from Geography - neat clue hon :)

Kaz67 - I was streets ahead on that one cos I took the photo  I know I fessed up a while ago I live at No.67 .. mmm .. my clue was way too easy me thinks

Loirae - Pretty sure that was the clue that swung it on that one - fabulous photo :D

Rosie - I had no idea with the photo but I heard your voice reading the clue, it just had to be my Big Sister's house :D

Liz - now then - so, yeah, I've been there a couple of times but I parked further down the street and never saw it from that angle - I contest having a point docked for that one  Seriously - it's like a tardis - definitely 4 floors though, I can vouch for that

UneekRose - wasn't sure on that one but the flowers swung it for my lucky guess :)

Lillie - yeah - more points docked  I've never seen your house without the car on the drive so I was still at a disadvantage  (Who's sounding like the poor loser now eh? ) Only kidding - it was well worth losing a point to spend a couple of memorable weekends with your lovely family in your gorgeous home ... see ya again real soon hon  :D

Bob - Now this was weird - never been to Canada, I know very little about it, but I kinda just knew this one was yours. A real cute place, looks cosy :D

Poops - Got that straight away - your neatly trimmed bush gave it away

the Cat - Big Congratulations for your win :D I expect the flat screen telly is in the post ? It was the number of grandchildren that made me guess it was yours - soooo many

Ann - I knew about your lifestyle so there was no missing that one. Looks fabulous, I envy your freedom, bet you have lots of fun with that "house"

Dunc - It had to be yours - very similar to my last house and typically English

Finally - Mahaloof ... there was no way anyone other than you could come up with such an off-the-wall clue and krazeee piccies. You really are Barking Bananas Bonkers and hilarious to boot - you should have your own show, you've had me in stitches

----

All in all, a great comp and fab fun girls and boys. Thanks for sharing :D . And I'm with Liz on the splendour of your homes in the US - they're all magnificent - see - as I thought, just like the movies

Right, off to try Mahaloof's level now

Byeeee

Yay! I finally completed Mahaloof's level, after only 83 tries! :D :D

I'm so thrilled. Got my gold star too. This is the only one of your levels I've managed DJ!

The boulder thingy revealed part of your lifestyle which gives us something in common. 8)

Thanks for the fun. :stinkyhappy:

Welcome back, Kazza!
did you have a nice holliday?

Didn`t we need 5000 posts here to get the invitation to Patricks barbeque-party?
No need to stop now!!!

We are considerating to buy another house, actually hubbys sisters house, and sell this one. It is supposed to be "sellers marked" in Norway at the present, since the interest from the bank is so low. Her house is much bigger than ours, so maybe we then can have the party here, Patrick? You will stil be in charge of the barb off course

Thanks Inger .. it was just great. I've been in Devon for a week, I'm planning to steal Lizzie's texture in a bit and step into the editor - lookout for Paignton Revisited coming soon to a Puzzle/Action Levels forum near you

Mahaloof - finally finished your level. I got through the exit earlier this afternoon, it took many more attempts to get the gold star. I'm with Liz, I think it's the first one of yours I've been able to crack too, some nice puzzles in there and lots to read - you're an interestin' guy 8)
I really liked the concept too - perhaps we should have a "This is Your Life" competition some day and guess who made the level from the lifestyle clues ? Hey, did it hurt when I ran across your top lip earlier in a panic cos I could hear the bridge tiles breaking away and I didn't know the route ?

Thanks

Well, that's what I was trying to suggest earlier. I think it sounds like a nice idea too. People don't have to put in all their David Copperfield *pft*, but some interesting tidbits, like.... I collect stamps from Uzbekistan, or... I have a budgy called Patrick M., or... Yes, I always do believe George W. Bush.
Something out of the ordinary, see?
Hey, did it hurt when I ran across your top lip earlier in a panic cos I could hear the bridge tiles breaking away and I didn't know the route ?
Well, I do have a little fur on that part, so it was quite harmless. And besides, I have a soft spot for you, Kaz, so you can run all you want to, OK?
