New Level- Alien Terrace

Post by k82994 » Sat Dec 23, 2006 1:44 pm

So here is a new level. The first part might be a little difficult but once you get things rolling it's smooth sailing. The texture is popo's 'Gnarled,' and the model is called 'Floatingsphere.' Merry christmas!!

Nathaniel, your models are superb! Thank you for sharing them with us. :D :D

So far, I've been unable to solve any of your levels, but I do try ... and try ... and try

I did get various things rolling to start with, but then things are anything but smooth. Obviously I'm not doing it the right way.

Laters ...

This was a blast!

Looked fabulous and had all the elements, some fun sphere work, nice travelator bits and good jumping! I had quite a few restarts because I kept messing up the order of things and not grabbing coins when I should have

Thanks a lot for the challenge and the fun!

I DID IT!!! What a brilliant level - the models look fantastic 8) I've been at this one for about an hour  The hardest part for me was getting on to the tramps  Also the order was important too!

You are a very smart level maker - thanks very much for the brain workout :D

PS: I haven't been able to solve either of your others - sorry!

Spoiler

Post by k82994 » Sat Dec 23, 2006 9:32 pm

Spoiler!!

The first part:
1. First push the red sphere up so it hits the steel box.
2. Next, push the steel box right over the right-upper-corner ice. Now it should be parallel to the right of the red sphere.
3. The next part uses quick fingers. Push the red sphere right. Now push the steel box down one. Next quick as possible push the red sphere left.
4. u can now take half a breathe, but that’s it. Run over and push the red sphere down.
If everything worked out the red sphere (on your side) will end up in the water. The green sphere will follow landing in the water and u can use the steel box to finish the bridge. Also the red sphere (not on your side) should be making the rounds. If the red sphere shattered try it again a little slower.

If anyone needs more hints on how to go from here I’ll be happy to post them.

That's not how I did it at all  Both red shpere's went into the water in the first room when I completed it!

Not to worry - my levels always have numerous ways of being completed - it's all fun! :P

Well, even though I haven't completed it, both red spheres went into the water at the beginning for me too!

So I started solving the level Lillie's way. I can also get the green and red timer buttons activated, and collect various bonus coins.

I definitely couldn't get onto the tramps. Will look at the spoiler and try again after Christmas. Have lots to do over the next couple of days.

Thanks for posting the spoiler Nathaniel! :D

1. First push the red sphere up so it hits the steel box.
That's not how I did it. I just pushed the red sphere down one square, then pushed the metal box into the water and waited. The grey boulder took a raft across tapped the red sphere and went into the water the red sphere came around and I pushed it into the water as well.
Meanwhile the other red sphere was making its way merrily around the circuit and the green sphere was waiting for me to push it through the green tp and into the keg! :D

Oh well...

That's not quite how I did it Bob, but very similar.

I've spent a further hour on this today and still can't finish.

No more time. The dreaded Christmas approaches.

Do I hear sleigh bells? Do I hear moans and groans as a big fat guy dressed in red tries to squeeze down our chimney? - especially after eating the mince pie and drinking the brandy ... uh oh! I think our chimney stack is coming down ...

I'm so proud to have finished this one at last! And got my gold star :D :D :D

Finding the correct order to do things was crucial.

Once I'd decided on that, I found the timing in the top right corner with the kaboom was pretty crucial too!

An excellent level Nathaniel. From your beginning spoiler, it looks like your method is completely different to most of ours. Also, I didn't need to use the green gate at all.

I'd love to know how you do the level. :?:

Brilliant models. 8) :D 8)

Thanks 4 playin

Post by k82994 » Wed Dec 27, 2006 3:55 pm

Looking over the posts I can see how the level can be completed in a different, easier, way than I had planned.

I think the main difference is the use of the green gate. My original idea was that the barrel would be sent over the trampolines and land on the pink button and to do this you would need to open the green gate. But since you don’t really have to do this to get to the end I guess the level is easier than I expected.

Thanks for playing. I’ll try and make a new one as soon as possible.

I'm pretty sure I didn't solve it the way you intended, but it was still very challenging. An excellent thinker! Thanks!
