How do you push the purple button and return to the star?

Here's the solution:

Before you go to the Purple Button, get the gold coins and make the turtle turn down the icy path back toward the Brr glove. Go back to the Brr Glove and refill then go after the pink button.

Hello to all...and thanks for all the help I have gotten from your posts!
In Round and Round, I can get to the star and key but cannot figure out how to get the gems. I know I am probably missing something so obvious!
Can anyone help me with this?

SPOILER!!!

Stand on the Yellow Gate and shoot an ice block next to the Yellow Button in the water. Go back and fill up on Brr! Shoot ice to work your way around until you get to the teleporter. You should have 1 Brr! left when you get to the gem area. The rest is just timing of the trap and then use the last Brr! to exit

Oh yes all of you are super at this! Thanks to your hints and tips I finally got the star on this level. BUT I can't remember if I got the gems!!!

This one was driving me crazy! And I was right...missed the obvious! Silly me, every time I got into the trap, I aborted cuz I thought I was done with...didn't even realize the turtle would let me out!
