Hi twohappylane,
The files for both houses and models have to be in subfolders within the CustomHouse or CustomModel folder - they also have to have the correct filename.
Using the starhouse as an example :-
This has to be a file named house1 in a subfolder jg58201 within the CustomHouse folder.
Hope this helps,
Malcdelsol

Hi twohappylane,
Star house is the WRONG one to experiment with
because it was my first attempt at custom stuff and I screwed it all up. I also can't fix it because I deleted (somehow) the StarHouse folder and so I cannot edit that post.
try this:

hope it helps,
jg
Oh Boy...I did find the file and will go to the StarHouse post and fix it now.

Thanks! Some of the problem I seem to be having also is that the 3.3ds files cannot open or they tell me that they can't open them. I downloaded your Movienights and got the screen just fine (waaaay cool!!!) but not the houses. What is so weird is that I can see them in a folder but they aren't in the game. Guess I'll have to work some more on this. I also tried just clicking on the download and instead of "save target as" I just click on it and then do like you suggested in your link. Thanks again for the help.

You won't be able to see 3ds files. In your folder all you will see is a little icon. Even tho you can't open them, they still work. The house part has me puzzled. Is your folder named CustomHouses...NOT...... Custom Houses?

Janet, I want to THANK YOU because I am now getting all of the custom models and they make the levels exceptional!!!!!! BUT I still don't know what I'm doing wrong with the houses. This is what I do: I click on download; click save; click RTWD; click CustomModels folder; click on CustomHouses folder; and save it there. After it is done, I go to C:RTWD:CustomModels:CustomHouses: right click on the "zip file"; choose extract to here: and I can see the houses! But when I play the game, they are not there. Isn't that bizarre? Do you think the CustomHouses folder should not be in the CustomModels folder? Or would that make a difference?

Oh forgot to mention that my folder is CustomHouses. I haven't separated the two words.

That's exactly it. Cut CustomHouses and paste it to C/RTWD and you will see all of the wonderful houses

Yes you should have two seperate folders.....one for CustomHouses and one for CustomModels.
