Fun level! Just slightly tricky at the end but certainly not as scary as it might look at first.

Switchy help?

Post by rmelin13 » Mon Aug 02, 2004 9:47 pm

OK, for the life of me, I cannot figure out deflector placement at the end. Anyone have a hint without giving it away completely? This is a great level, but this pin-head is stumped. :?: :(

Hi rmelin13,
I thought someone better at this than I would come forward with some help here....I think I lucked out after trying many times.
Here is what I did.

The first deflector goes down the lowest conveyor on the left...that stops the UFO's from going across to the right. Go back thru the Teleporter. I tried to stand in an area where the teleporters are, that would allow the UFO's to shoot themselves to get rid of as many as possible.

I made sure that the conveyors were running toward the bottom before I put the first deflector in place, to make my get away easier. You will run down the conveyor on the left, and straight into the wall for the exit.

Then I sent the last deflector thru, moved it 2 spaces, went back into the teleporter, and waited until all of the UFO's were piled up on the left side.

I came thru and ran like the dickens to the conveyor and into the wall where the exit is. This is not very specific, as I am sure It was mostly luck for me!
Good luck...ask for more help if you need it....

Kaboom you need to respond to requests for hints...please.

You're absolutely right ol'gramma - plus we may also find out the author had a completely different way of solving it! That has happened more than once!!!

Could be he's on holidays, or too busy to get back to the computer.

I've noticed that alot of people seem to be taking a few days to respond to something.

Summer keeps people busy. I'm sure things will pick up again after September when there's not much to do.

Still haven't gotten through this level...haven't gotten through many of the new levels...brain isn't working as well as normal!

But, I have to say this: Very creative bunch now joining in the fun. Glad to have some new talents on display! Keep up the good work everyone! :D
I'm not as think as you drunk I am...*Hic*

Well, this is Kaboom's level, and since he/she's constantly online I figure Kaboom should be the one to give hints.

That being said, here's how I did it. (There are of course lots of ways to do this level.) Refer to the picture in the attached zip file, because it's very confusing to explain what I did without a picture.

First I collected the 8 coins. Do not step on the square button until I said so.

Now head thru the purple teleporter, and bring out the reflector circled in red to the UFO room. Then reposition it until the reflector's at location A.

Next, head thru the purple teleporter again, and this time bring out the reflector circled in blue to the UFO room. It'll naturally end up at location B as Stinky returns to the UFO room.

Now push that reflector at B all the way down through the square button (yes, it's now ok to hit the square button), and then a bit left until it's at location C.

Next, follow the purple path, and with a little careful timing with the UFOs, push the reflector from C down one step to D, right on the conveyor belt (which is now stopped). Do not push it further down yet to G, you're not ready yet.

Now, teleport out of the UFO room, then follow the white path so you re-enter the UFO room one step to the right of location A. You are now able to move the other reflector you earlier left on A, move it to E.

Now take the black path, being very careful at the upper-left corner to avoid the UFOs, and push the reflector from E to F and leave it there. Then have Stinky get back to location B through the conveyor belt near location E, and then finally from B to C by going down and then left.

Now you can push the reflector from D down to G, which will cut off the flow of UFOs to the right of G. The other reflector you left at F will prevent UFOs from leaking out through F.

Now just wait at H until the area boxed in yellow is clear of UFOs, then make a dash for the bonus coins and the exit.

Oh, one more thing about collecting the 8 coins. There're some orderings of collecting the coins that will end up safer than others when you're done with the coins and need to head to the purple teleporter. The way I usually do it is to start from the coin at the lower right, then go in a counterclockwise direction to get the remaining coins. Many other orderings also work.

Right you are, and that is why I hesitated to reply.
I know Kaboom posted a level this AM so he should have seen this post as rmelin13 has been waiting since Monday.

Glad you wrote such a detailed solution...now I will play it again
