Another Addict?

Post by sfseaman » Sat Jul 31, 2004 8:38 pm

So this week my son returned from China after a year, and when he got home, he wanted to know what the game was that his sister and I were playing non-stop. When I showed him, his reaction was "I hate those kind of games where you have to plan ahead." I sighed from relief, hoping that he had avoided the addiction (he's got another year of college to attend to after all). Then today he asked me to let him try a "simple level" so I started him on the tutorial. An hour later I can hear shouts of "I hate this type of game" and strings of profanities in English and Mandarin. Oh well, like I asked several weeks ago, anyone know any good 12-step groups??

Maybe we all should start a 12-step program

After all admitting you have a problem is the first step

My husband is constantly telling me that I am obsessed but...I was getting ready for our night out last night and when I came downstairs woudln't ya' know it...there he was doing the same thing as your son

Okay - I can take the first step -- OR:

I can have a glass of wine & go play Wonderland.

WHICH ONE WOULD YOU CHOOSE????? (Don't forget your motto - "a day without wine is like a day without sunshine" - Ditto for Wonderland!)

Did anyone see my pathetic message from the other night...I had company and was sitting there thinking..."Hmmm okay people when are you leaving so I can go check the forum. My friends make fun of me all the time about it." I came in and checked and there was hardly any activity! I couldn't believe it...It was odd. So I type a message titled "Hello?"

Hey Majic you also need to have a plate of snackies avaialble with your glass of wine...Some olives, cheese, good Tuscan bread...Yummy :!:

It's awful when you come on the forum and nobody's there.

I sit with my morning coffee, check to see what's been going on during the night!

Isn't the time difference a botheration?

JUST LIKE WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first thing I do in the morning is check the forum, to see what everyone's been up to while I've been in beddy-byes   Sometimes it takes an hour and a half to read them all, and I can't do anything else till I've read them.

Isn't it great when there's lots to read in the morning?

My animals are very important to me but, they have to wait for breakfast.

Cats mewing, dogs woofing and horses whinneying, what a racket!

I keep shouting, "I won't be long".

Don't worry, they get treats all day long. The horses have taken a great liking to stuffed olives, their favourite is still spaghetti though!

There I go, rambling on as per usual.

    I can just picture you M.A.D. .....sitting on the Ark, with your nose glued to the computer, and all the animals yelling around you, "Where's my breakfast?" and you absentmindedly tossing olives at them!

I didn't know horses would eat either spaghetti or olives. do they like the olives stuffed? :? :D

HA HA HA - this thread is so funny!   Simply because I do the SAME thing. First thing I gotta do in the morning is get some coffee and check the forum! Then one more time before going to bed. When I'm at work, I check it periodically when I get a chance to take a break. Kind of like having another family out there!!! Maybe I'm an addict, but I LOVE IT, too - what fun it is!!! I got a PM from another member (whose name I won't mention!) a couple of months ago that said, "Oh my gosh, it's 10 o'clock in the morning, and I haven't even brushed my hair or made the bed yet!" Sound familiar???

Thanks for the tip Lori - re. the "snackies"!!! JUST what I needed - MORE encouragement! Wine, Wonderland and snacks!! Guess I'll have to jog around the block every once in awhile or I'll be pudgy enough to pose as Santa by Christmas!!!

Yes Sharon,

I only discovered the stuffed olive addiction.

I was opening a jar the other day, the horses see me with anything in my hand and they think it's for them.
Expecting them to spit the olives out, I was amazed, they looked for more.
They ended up with the whole jar, I got one!

They adore tinned spaghetti, beans, peaches, fruit cocktail and fresh orange juice.

My grocery bill is sky high, most of the items are for the animals.
Not forgetting the monster (John) he has his treats too!

Poor John, over there in the corner, scrambling to wrestle the odd olive from the animals, and Noah in the background yelling "Feed the animals, Maureen!"

Actually, if John tries to snag an olive from the animals, Maureen slaps his hand and then yells, " YOU KNOW WHERE THE REFRIGERATOR IS!!"

Olives stuffed with what? My personal favorite is blue cheese.
