My Christmas vacation
My Christmas vacation

As most of you know I live in NC, USA and on Dec. 1st I traveled to Mississippi and spent the entire month with my daughter and grandson Nathan. I had the best time. Nathan is 4 1/2 yrs. old and we got to spend every day together while his parents were at work.
He's quite the character, has a wonderful imagination, very smart. We played lots of different games and colored many coloring books. He has a Nintendo DS, and a playstation II. He's pretty good at the games, better than his Nana.
He has a stubborn streak also and knows just how to manipulate his Momma. I slept in his big bed while he slept in his toddler bed, it had to be turned where he could see me.
We also traveled to Fort Smith, AR to visit my sister and see her new gran-baby, we also visited some of my ex-in-laws whom I'm great friends with still.
I also got to see my son who lives right there near his sister in Memphis, TN. They also have and older brother who still regards me as one of his Mom's.
My hubby drove out from NC on Christmas Eve to bring me back home, so we spent 3 more days. We had gotten Nathan a play set for Christmas so he would have something to play outside with instead of playing video games all the time. It took Raoul (pronounced Rail) 2 days to put it together. It had rained the first day but not till later in the afternoon.
While he worked on that my daughter, Marcia and I went after Christmas shopping.
Here's Nathan with Santa and if you follow the above link it will take you to webshots and you can see more pictures.

Monica, I just about cried with you.
It'd be hard to leave those cute lil bundles. Nathan is a darling, precious one. The pic of him asleep in his car seat, with the headphones on, is so sweet. He loves his nana. (had to be able to see you while you slept...so cute) Xylian is a beauty!!! Is one doggie's name precious? The other one JJ? Too sweet. What kind of doggies are they? Is Precious a puppy or just a tiny doggie?
Loved looking through your pics. I still bet you were happy to be back in your own bed! I know I always am.

I got Nathan the head phones since he likes to bring his DVD player and his Nintendo along to occupy himself, this way we didn't have to hear the racket. They also plug into a place in the back and he can listen to a CD while we listen to the radio. He's so cute when he's sleeping.
JJ belongs to my son, he's part Chihuahua and min pin, Precious is pit I think, she's a big cry baby and a pain. They got her about the same time Lord of the Rings came out, hence the name. She is a good dog though.
Xyliah was too cute, we couldn't wait to pass her around. My niece (her mom) is Caucasian and her husband is Laotian. They also have a little boy, Jadon and he's cute as a button. There was a pic of him at the site also.
I was glad to be home around my own things, my own computer and my own bed. Don't tell my hubby but I missed my PC more than I missed him......shhhhh

Oh honey how did I miss this thread until now?!?!?!?!?!?!?
What a beautiful bunch of family members you have. Love your hair. I'm tryin' to grow mine longer but I'm 46 and starting to wonder if it's a good idea LOL!
Love the play set and what a GREAT idea to get the kiddos out with friends and family instead of on those blasted video games all the time.
Sounds like you had a great time but are also glad to be home. I'm soo soo happy for you! Thanks for sharing all the photos with us.

I usually do check all the threads. Then just click the "mark messages as read" when I see that the sillies have been posting, so then I just ignore those.uneekrose wrote: I skip all the sillyness though, if you get my drift.
This one musta been below a stupid one so I missed it. So sowwy.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and story with us, Monica. Sounds like you had the best month of your life!
I agree that the play set outside is a great idea. Who needs computergames, eh?
Last week I called my daughter Sanne to go for a beachwalk and cappucino. She said: "I told you we would be in Berlin for the holidays. We're taking care of somebody's house and enjoying the sights. See you after the New Year."
I'd forgotten all about it! My mind is going..going..gone...

I don't think your minds going Loofah, apparently you've had other things on it what with wedding plans and all.....
All the games he has on his Nintendo DS and Playstaion II are fighting and racing games, they might be good for eye, hand co-ordination but not very educational, he gets kind of grumpy if he plays them to long, he sort of looks like this after a bit....
I'm going to get him some educational ones for his birthday in April. Actually some I can play next time I'm there...
