Robyn do you know anything about external hard drives? I was looking at them today in Best Buy and they have these portable ones on sale. I thought maybe my husband would like one for his birthday. heck I'd like one also.

Anyway Western Digital is cheaper than SimpleTech but I read on PC World that SimpleTech is better.

I want to back up things from my PC and one of those would be better than me sitting here copying to about 10 or more CDR's. Ever since I had to do that restore my computer sucks. Some of my programs still don't work. I spent the last 2 days trying to get all the software loaded for our printer, it installs the drivers but not the programs I need. It's frustrating.

You could probably install an extra HD right into your computer that you don't put an Operating System on. In other words just get a bare drive like the external ones and use it as a big giant folder for all yer stuff.

I think you can get internal ones fairly cheap nowadays. I'd go with Western Digital for anything. I have installed loads of their HD's and haven't had a problem yet. I actually used one of those for my Tivo when it went caflooie too.

I'm a huge fan of Western Digital. Not a big fan of external Hard drives though BUT it may work for you. If you get an internal one like I said they are very easy to install and I could help ya over the phone or something.

Gen, I know ETL means Entirely Too Loud, so what would ETC mean?

Monica, I have an External Hard Drive and it's easy to set up (I did it myself) and it's portable. If you want to know anything about those.
