Marinus wrote:Muzozavr, to make the story a little more complicated, I think gravity is included in the definition of weight, so you are making a sort of nested formula/subroutine in a manner of speaking.

I think the weight of an object on a planet is proportional with:
a. the mass of the object
b. the gravity of the planet

If you want to make its weight bigger you can do two things:
a. make the mass of the object bigger
b. make the gravity of the planet bigger, or with other words: make the mass of the planet bigger (to Jupiter 8) )

So if the gravity is the opposite of lightness, mass should be as well. :D

So now the simple things. To the other people posting riddles, I agree with Muzo, there are too many possible solutions. I think a good riddle should have one real solution and just a few alternatives. Let's say both people were bitten by red herrings, one died and the other stayed alive.

Edit: I see just now Tyteen you posted again. Now we can talk

1 Was something wrong with the oxigen?
2 Was it only oxigen?
3 Was something wrong with the bottle/installation?
4 Did he breath another kind of material/matter then just oxigen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide ? I mean something he was not supposed to breath.
5 Did he breath too much or too less oxigen or one of the other materials/matter?
1.Nope
2.Yes(BIG CLUE!!!)
3.Nope
4.Nope
5.Nope

Should be able to solve this now

Marinus:

1. In the original story it was water, but I guess it doesn't matter much for the story...
2. It didn't kill him by itself. However, if he wouldn't have looked at himself, he wouldn't have died... (major clue)
3. Don't know... :(

Tyteen:
First off, what is lightburn?!
To your riddle: so, somebody filled his tank with pure oxygen without balancing it out with nitrogen and such? (I heard it can be deadly, but I don't actually know why)

Tyteen,

If I'm right, air that you are supposed to breath in, is about 20% O2, 79% N2, (not quite sure about that 2) and a very little part CO2. The air the you breath out is then about 14 or 15 % O2 and more CO2.

It is important that what you breath in is about 20% O2 and about the other 80%, never mind how much N2 and CO2 it is. In case you should breath in 100% O2 your lungs/body should be burned immediately from the inside.

Q1. Is that correct?

Then there are two systems:

1. You simply have compressed air in the bottle what you breath in, and what you breath out goes directy blub blub blub up the the water surface.

2. With the more "professional" system you have 100% O2 in the bottle. With the "air" you breath out is a small part O2 added so it is again 20% O2. As a matter of fact you are still breathing the same air, but it still contains 20% O2.

Q2. Is that correct?

From your answers on my previous post questions, I understand this man was using system 2 with the 100% O2, it was working well, and he was breathing exactly what was good for him. So he didn't die because of something he breathed.

Q3. Is that correct?

Edit:
4. If he had used system 1 instead of 2 he would not have died?
5. Did the O2 someway cause a big fire or explosion?

Muzozavr,
1. Does it matter if he looked in water what was below him, so he looked down, or if he looked in a mirror which was in front of him, so he looked straight ahead?
2. If he did exactly the same, but with this difference that, at the moment he was able to see himself, he closed his eyes, should the same happened.
3. How long after he saw himself he died? (immediately, 0-5s, 5-20s, etc.)
4. Did he die because of something
a. inside his body?
b. outside his body?
5. case 4b
a. Mechanical, physical, some kind of force involved?
b. It has something to do with the environmental circumstances? (including radiation and kryptonite and such things) 8)

1 Did he notice something strange when he saw himself? Something he didn't expect, so maybe he became literally scared to death, or he was frightened to death?

2. About your "answer" on my previous question 3: Proper answer impossible, sorry. Is that because
a. you don't accept my way of questioning for it's not really a Y/N question?
b. Is it really impossible to know how long it took, not even approximately? (longer then a day)
c. Is it because it took some time from the moment he saw himself until he started dying, and then it took another time before he really was dead.
d. some other reason, very difficult to understand? 8)

3 He died because of something inside his body.
a. Was it something which came from outside? By example gas, poison, virus, something sharp etc.
b. case 3a=y: which one of my examples is closest?
c. No other material/matter involved but it was more something like a heart attack?

4 a.Had his dead also something to do with how he was or what he did before?
b. If someone else with a different history was there instead of him, should have happened the same?

1. Not "strange" but you're a bit closer now.
2. Simply put, depending on how you define it, there are two answers that are like total opposites of each other.
3. More similar to heart attack.
4a: no.
4b: if he would act the same way, then yes. However, most people wouldn't act the same way.

Part 1 8)

About my previous question 1 you say he didn't notice something strange:
1 But did he notice:
a. something specific what has to do with the reason of his dead?
b. something most people would call strange?
c. something he didn't really expect?
d. something on a specific place of his face or body?

About 2 you say: Simply put, depending on how you define it, there are two answers that are like total opposites of each other.

2 Definition 5 of "opposite"? 8)
3 So it doesn't matter my question 2c ? about the time before he was dying, and the time during he was dying? My definition/example of dying: When someone has taken a slow working poison, from the moment someone notice something strange, until the moment of death.

Still about 2, my original question was: How long after he saw himself he died? (immediately, 0-5s, 5-20s, etc.)
You say: depending on how you define it
4 What part of the question is "it"?
a. How long after....
b. he saw himself
c. he died
d. ???? 8)

5 a,b. Never mind about 2 answers depending on defining it, please give them both. :D

Edit: Part 2
More similar to heart attack.
6. But I guess it was no heart attack, brain attack, scared/frightened to death. Right?
7a. Was it something in his whole body? (like in his blood)
b. Or in a specific part of his body? (head, heart area, lungs area, stomach area, guts area, big toe)
However, most people wouldn't act the same way.
8 And most people would think it was strange, acting that way?
9 Has the way he acted to do with sort of hobby, sport, profession?

Edit 2: Part 3

10. Could it be happened in real life?
11.Was the location anyway important? Could it be happened:
a. At home?
b,c. In a city outside/inside ?
d,e. On the countryside outside/inside?
f. In snowy mountains?
g,h. On the moon/Jupiter?
12. Were the invironmental circumstances anyway important?
13. Was his body in a strange position anyhow?

O2 was fine.

Note this rile has MANY possible answer,so maybe this is the only 1 of the answers.

Marinus:

1. All no, but he did notice *something*. He actually knew it beforehand, but noticed only now.
2. Erm.... more convenient way.
If you mean AFTER he looked at himself, then it's immediately, before he even had a chance to stop looking. However... there's always a however. And I can't tell why unless you manage to form a specific yes/no question about that, because it would be a total giveaway.
3. Not really that much.
4. Something else.
5. I already said why I can't.
6. Nothing out of mentioned.
7. Erm... actually I don't know about this specific way of dying, but I'd guess it starts in one place and goes all over the rest of the body soon. No poison though!
8. Indeed they would, it does look very strange.
9. Neither, but "hobby" is the closest. Not hobby though, but another passion. (big hint)
10. Can you find a man who would do the same? In that case, yes it could. But you won't find anyone who'd do the same, anyway.
11. No, the location is NOT important.

A very helpful clue awaits in this quote:
While you can't really put it in a yes/no question, the thing that matters the MOST, is who the man was.

Thanks Tyteen, but if you have a Y/N question puzzle, I think it's a good idea that you have only one intended solution. And I also think that "possible" is not quite a good answer for a Y/N question.

I didn't see the answers on 12 and 13 of my many questions post:

12. Were the invironmental circumstances anyway important?
13. Was his body in a strange position anyhow?

Then about your hint

when I asked:
If someone else with a different history was there instead of him, should have happened the same?
You answered
if he would act the same way, then yes. However, most people wouldn't act the same way.
1 Isn't that contradictory with your hint?
2 Is it a well known person? From a book or a movie or such?
Can you find a man who would do the same? In that case, yes it could. But you won't find anyone who'd do the same, anyway.
3 Can you find a man who can do the same?
All no, but he did notice *something*. He actually knew it beforehand, but noticed only now
4 It was not something specific what has to do with the reason of his death. You mean: It was not something specific, it was something vague. But it has to do with the reason of his death. Right?
5 He knew it before but at the moment he looked and noticed "something" he died?

Tyteen, then I give you 3 possible solutions:

1 He walked near a woodfire. By accident he turned a valve open so all the oxigene escaped out of the bottle and the little woodfire became a big explosion

2 While he was diving something happened to the breathing system so he got either 100% or 0% oxigene

3 He was bitten by a shark

If it's not one of these you may give me the solution.

Continuing

About the two opposite answers. One of them you gave:
If you mean AFTER he looked at himself, then it's immediately, before he even had a chance to stop looking.
It's to be said as a time: Immediately or 0 seconds. But about the "however":
6 Is that to be said as time too? Then the opposite is eternal.
7 Is there a special reason you wrote AFTER in big letters? I mean: Of course "after" he looked. If he died before he looked he couldn't look though? Or is there an afterlife involved?
8 Notice 6 and 7: Eternal, afterlife! Coming close? 8)
depending on how you define it
9 What in this case "it" is, is never mentioned in this riddle neither by you or by me?

10 About the way of dying you don't know much.
a But is it possible that you or me or someone you know, should die that way?
b If I should ask a doctor in a hospital about this way of dying, should he be able to give me al the information I want, or should he do   :?  ?
Neither, but "hobby" is the closest. Not hobby though, but another passion. (big hint)
11 Has it to do with some kind of religion?

Edit:
12 A few more possible kinds of passion: Sex and drugs and rock & roll. Love, hate. Other kinds of feelings. Movies, games....

12. No, the environmental circumstances weren't that important.
13. Not really.

1. No, it isn't.
2. Yes, he is.
3. Err... extremely improbable!
4. Yes, vague.
5. Yeah.
6. Yes, as time, but not really eternal. Simply a long time, and we don't know how much exactly.
7. YES.
8. Not one bit.
9. If you think about it, there are two different times to track, and usually they're very close to each other. In this case, however...
10. Yes, a doctor would be able to tell you. I simply don't know, and even if you know it doesn't help much.
11. Yes, but the religion wasn't the cause of death. However, it's a big clue on the road to answer.

12.
love
YES!!!!!!!

For some reason I'm thinking of Jesus Christ now, but there are several things which don't make sense then. :?

It is a well known man.
1a. from a book? (the bible maybe?)
b. a movie?
c. a religion?
2. Did he really exist?

3. About that religion. Is it a well known religion?
a. Christian?
b. Islam?
c. Buddhism?
d. Hinduism?
e. Jewisch?
f. New Age?

4. The 2 different times, have they to do with coma or such?
5. Did the man have special properties/power or such?
6. Is magic or are wonders involved?

Edit:
7. It is not Superman again though, who looked at himself with his X-ray eyes????

1: Religions always have books with it's legends, even if it's not "the holy book" don't you think? So, both a and c are proper answers.
2: I don't think so, however, if you do strongly believe in that religion...
3: None of em, but it IS well known.
4: Nope. It's something you'd never probably expect.
5: Properties, yes, powers no.
6: Magic, um... If a man who'd do the same can exist without magic...
7: NO, but you cracked me up!!
