Minesweeper/Xyzzy Easter Egg

I found a easter egg for Minesweeper! This only works for all versions of windows except Vista.

1. Bring up Minesweeper.

2. Type in xyzzy with no caps.

3. PRESS shift, do not hold.

4. PRESS enter, do not hold.

Did you notice the black dot appear in the upper right corner? If you hover over a bomb, it will go off! If you don't hover a bomb, it will stay there! I didn't know Minesweeper was this easy!

Only thing, I don't know how to get the dot off without restarting!

If you restart, it will go off.

There is at least one cheat in almost any game that comes with Windows.

You can also try...

Pressing Alt+Shift+2 in Solitaire

Or...

Typing in "hidden test" in Pinball, to be able to control your ball using the mouse and get loads of points

OK, now I'm off to try that cheat you told us about.

Yes, it's a very, very widely-known cheat.

BTW, that minesweeper cheat doesn't work

XP SP2 refuses to do it properly. The white dot does appear but it never changes when hovering over a bomb.

Its a black dot on mine.

My other computer is a SP2 and it works fine. I upgraded to SP2, I didn't buy it with it though.

I upgraded to SP2 too.
The dot appears in the upper LEFT corner and is always, always white.
Glitchiest cheat ever, and proof that Microsoft FAILZ.

Hooray, it worked this time.
To get the dot off, just select and unselect whatever icon on your desktop is the top left icon.

When you bring the game up, type in xyzzy and press shift and press enter and the black dot, or white, will show up.

It's not working.

I typed xyzzy, pressed shift and enter and still nothing happens. I'm using Windows XP.

Minimise every window, and then look *really* carefully at the top left of your desktop -- the dot is literally a PIXEL.
Of course, if the picture on your monitor is shifted slightly, the dot may be hidden.

Oh, I got it now. I thought it was supposed to be the top-left pixel of the window.

I get a white dot in the top-left of my screen, but no mines go off when I hover over them.

Mines don't go off. The dot disappears when you hover over a mine and reappears when you don't.

The cheat for Minesweeper doesn't work on my computer. Nothing happens AT ALL!

About the Space Cadet Pinball cheat: Does anyone notice the text on the bottom panel of the right side? It gives you missions. That cheat makes the missions too easy!
