I learned one thing today, if your making peanut brittle don't lick the spatula right after you've spread it in the pan after you've just boiled it in the microvave. :roll:

Special meals always taste great, I think it has to do with the good company! But you never said how did the peanut brittle turn out?

Oh the peanut britlle is delicious. It's the first time I've ever tried to make it, I usually make fudge but I was in a peanutty mood. I'll take some with me tomorrow (actually today) for everyone to share but I did save some for myself. Hubby won't eat it so it's all mine.

Giving Thanks

As Thanksgiving Day approaches,
Our blessings we recall;
The things we are most thankful for,
We recollect them all.

You are really special,
In all You say and do.
You’ve made a difference in our lives;
We’re thankful now for You.

Oh jeez! It sucks to burn your tongue right before a Thanksgiving! :(
I hope your tongue is getting better now. :)
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

Nobody made a pumpkin pie...I knew something was missing. My ex-sis-in-law made a pumpkin cheesecake pie but it looked sort of runny so I didn't have any. I'll have to make some pumpkin for Christmas.

I'm still part of my ex's family so we went there. My ex-mom-in-law makes these mini-pecan pies and she makes a bunch of extra just for me to bring home. I leave me out a few and freeze the rest, then take out one or two at a time. Their delicious.

Gosh Laura I'll be in Arkansas visiting in a few weeks, your not very far from there if I remember. I haven't been up in Missouri in years.

Yummmy pecan pie, Bring some with you when you come to Arkansas I'll meet ya 1/2 way 8)
I'm between Branson & Springfield in Missouri, (the southwest corner) Getting to say..Harrison, AR only takes me about 45 minutes to an hour. Where ya gonna be in Arkansas maybe we could meet for pie & coffee? Wouldn't that be cool 8)

I'll be in Fort Smith, AR
Oh yea, now I remember you saying something about Branson. I just checked my map and it's a bit over 200 miles from Ft. Smith to Springfield. I have family in Ft. Smith but I'm not sure yet if I'm going to stay for a week or just the weekend. I have to plan it out with my daughter when I get to Mississippi.
Unfortunately I won't have a car while I'm out there, I have to depend on others to cart me around. :)

Well we'll have to wait and see how things play out.. 200 miles is a bit far to drive for pie & coffee :lol: :lol:
