MOFI - The Vulcanic System

Post by Erwin042 » Sat Dec 20, 2008 10:40 pm

I can't get on the next flipbridge. It's also so hot I die.
Anybody knows what to do?
Got the coins and the gems and 1 key. But now I need to go across.
Althought it is so beautiful here: all those colours.
I won't put a spoiler in here so I keep it with the word colour
if only I....
I can go over 1 bridge but then the other is gone
and brdiges are so slow to wait for
I keep walking but finally my feet burn and I die
if only I have some special shoes to put on

Merlin, when you say bridges, do you then mean barrels in lava?
Close to the walls, there are some cool spots

Mini spoiler:
Either go straight across in one go or go diagonally to where there's coins/gems. There are safe spots there.

Discovered those, are easier!
No, bridges that turn 3 turns backwards. Not pillars or barrels.
Those new bridges you encountered also early in the game (can't remember in which level they appear)
first the bridge at the upper left, then bottom left, then bottom right and then upper right turn. So you might take the chance to get from bridge 3 to bridge 2. but then your feet burn or you've just missed your next connection

I thought there are no safe spots, but I kept on walking earlier.
I found safe spots! The faxt Mette told me there are made me trying it again and try to stand still on some tiles.
Thanks Mette!

I think you need to stand closer to the wall.

Has someone managed to get the three coins within the area of the
red and green gates? I'm always to slowly with blinking. Fast blinking is the correct way to get these three coins? Or is there another way?

Do you mean orange and green gates at the left?

Very fast blinking required.

yes, it is the area at the lefthand side below the spikes. I think i have
to learn how to make a second blink "on the fly" to the orange gate.
Maybe i'm already a little bit too tired for that or my pc simply a little bit to fast..... :)

paidi and anyone else wanting those three coins, Salin is right - very fast blinking, but here are some tips that may help:
  • The red gate at the entrace goes up and down with the orange gate, so if you're having a hard time seeing the orange gate for takeoff, just watch the red one instead
  • When the orange gate is up, you can't get a cursor lock on it, so it's hard to have your mouce ready to go. Wait for it to go down, then put your cursor on it and don't move. Wait for it to come back up - your cursor will change, but keep holding still. As the gate starts to lower again, blink. Trust yourself that you didn't move.
  • From Orange to top: you can ONLY blink to the southern most point, anything else will take too long. If you die on the orange gate, try this trick - it worked for me: After getting caught in the orange gate, I put my finger on the screen where the landing spot is (imagine a touch screen). Then reload and as soon as you've blinked to orange, move your cursor to under your finger and click again.
  • For getting back, use the same trick for figuring out where the orange gate is. Walk to the edge, put your finger on the monitor, then walk back so you cool off. Watch the gate and when you think it's about to go down, walk to the edge and move your mouse under your finger, blinking across as quickly as possible.

I'm totally lost. I can't even get to the charger to get the blink. The route I'm taking is to try and get the white key, then access the transporters, then on to get blink. I can get the white key but I can't get back, the green mover-thing is going too fast for me to jump on. Did I take a wrong turn somewhere/am I missing something???

ok, I finally figured it out. If anyone else gets stuck like I did, here's the spoiler:
the yellow & green mover-things are going too fast to return but if you ride them back and forth once, get off, then hop back on, when you get off the second time the "fastness" will be in the other direction so you can ride back......hope that makes sense
Now onto the part everyone else was talking about. (I'm sure I'll return to read the spoilers for help.)
