Picture Me - The Sequel

How does everyone feel about a second Picture Me comp but this time with photos of us as kids? I've already asked Davimad and she thinks it's a good idea. You'd need to submit a photo that shows you between the ages of, say, three and ten years old. Any later and it may look like you do now. Along with the photo you need to add a cryptic clue so people could work out who it is.

They would all have to be sent to one person who will post them all including themselves, but obviously wouldn't be allowed to guess. Now that we can PM attachments there would be no need for a web site to put them on, they could be posted on the forum for all to see.

If you send a photo that includes other people, you will have to point out which one is you, obviously. It doesn't have to be a really clear photo as the clue will be the main way of guessing who's who. The funnier the photo, the better.

This could be a lot of fun Popo, maybe the members would like to see the adult after the guesses are in. These pictures would have to be kept private like before.

It will be interesting to see how many folk join us.

I think the second picture me contest would be a great idea and would be a alot of fun. I especially like sending the pictures of when we were kids.

I'll organise the photos and give them all a number or letter and then I'll either post them on the forum or PM/email them to the participants, whichever you all prefer. I'll give you a list of people to choose from then.

Just to put everyone's mind at rest, this doesn't have to be done before Christmas. I know there's a lot going on at the moment, with the MS comp and all, so I don't want you to think you have to do this right now.

How about a deadlline of the end of January. That should give everyone chance to do the MS comp and get ready for Christmas.

How do you all feel about showing us how you look now after the contest is over. A lot of us already 'know' each other from the last one, but there are lots of new members now, and I do think knowing what someone looks like makes you feel closer. This is completely optional, of course.

I'm not pressurising anyone, but....WE NEED MORE PEOPLE!!!

Malc, I wasn't sure you'd still have any childhood photos, thought you might have left all that behind in Blighty. But , you're right, I do want to see how cute you were.

We haven't got a scanner or a digital camera (we still live in the dark ages!). Will try to get a friend to do it for me. I have no probs with a recent picture either.

You mentioned that this had been done before. Are the photo's still available on this forum please - would like to have a nosey

The photos were never posted on the forum. A web site was opened for the comp and the answers. I don't think it's still running, it was a long time ago. It was done like this so that only those taking part got to look at the photos, and I think there was a bit of concern over identity theft if they had been posted on the open forum. I don't think there would be need for a website now that we can PM attachments, but the adult photos still wouldn't be posted on the forum, and I think we would all have to agree not to put anyone elses photo on the open forum.

If you're taking part, you'll get to see everyone then. If you do a search for the original Picture Me Contest you can get an idea of what was going on.

There aren't any photos to email. I don't have them on my computer, they were just on the web site. I don't have the web address any more either. I'm sure Jen, who did it, said she was taking it off a few months ago.

When I said you'd get to see them, I meant the ones that get submitted for this comp.

To everyone,
I do need to reitterate that when this gets going, everyone has to agree that other people's photos will not get passed to people who are not entering, or otherwise posted on any other website. There has to be a degree of confidentiality here, or some people will not want to enter.

Also we need to get straight what exactly we are going to do. My original thought was to guess who the child was from a clue that points to what you are like on the forum. There would be no need to know what you look like now.

The adult photos were for everyone to see how you turned out. Obviously some of us already know what each other looks like.

Now it's been suggested we submit both adult and child pictures at the same time and match the pictures to each other. Is this istead of guessing from a clue, or as well as? And will we be saying who the adult pictures are when we post them, cos if we don't some of us will be at a disadvantage, not having been in the last one.

Is anyone else interested, or have any other thoughts.

I think we should go back to your original plan Popo.

The newer members would be at a disadvantage with the adult photo's.

Everyone stands an equal chance with the kids snaps and cryptic clue.

I'm going to leave it till after Christmas, there's too much going on right now. If you're interested put your name down and we'll get going as soon as Christmas is over. That will give everyone time to think of a clue, the more cryptic the better, to go with their picture. We can sort out if there are going to be any adult photos at all then.

Up to now I've counted eleven people, but the more the better.

You can count me in to. It is really very nice to know who is behind all of those intelligent and creative levels. I am just a "user and player", because I am not creative at all. But I am very much enjoying all of them.

Popo, seeing as it's only kids pictures, I'm sure nobody would object to
them being shown on the forum.

This will save you a whole lot of hassle and give everyone a good laugh.
