"smoke and mirrors" may refer to any sort of presentation by which the audience is intended to be deceived - Wikipedia

Of course in my level, it refers to the cannon and the reflector.

In that case you did a great job. I was thinking for a while you made an invisible mistake, but it appeared that I was the one who made a mistake.

I actually had more trouble working out the white button, after I got the timing worked out for the tramps that is.

You got me for a while with great misdirection, but I won't give anything away about the level yet, so I said it a bit cryptic.

For anyone having difficulty starting this one, here are a few hints:

Keep boxes out of safe reach of cannon!

Don't allow chompie to push your buttons.
Let your mind run around in circles.

Vintage Mark. Started off the same as all your other levels. Stared at it and thought "what the hey?...Can't be done" but of course it is possible. Anyhows I had so much fun solving this I had to do it a cpl more times after I completed it. One thing I can say about your levels is that if it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck. Start all over...You are most assuredly on the wrong path. Thx Mark.

I realized early on what you wanted done with the 'smoke and mirror' but the boxes had me totally confoozled.

Sorted it out after a few experiments.

and a master puzzle maker!! Thank you, thank you for the video solution!!!!!! I had been going over your older levels trying to figure out how to complete this level. I love all of you puzzle masters, I just sometimes have a hard, hard time figuring them out. Thank you to all for posting solutions

I actually got the idea for this one from doing just that:
Watching the solution to an old level I did called "Pumpkin Strudel".
