It's been always like that I think, there was never a restriction on subcolor for colored block gates.

Let me clarify. What I mean is that the subcolor value for "colour block" gates has never been restricted. Currently the Editor's range checking of object modifiers are handled basically on a per-model basis, so different type of objects with different models may have different range checking.sonny wrote:That's not true. My subcolors are only 0-4. However I don't remember but I think I got past 4 once. I might just be thinking I did.
I tested that buttons and doors, for example, do have subcolors restricted to 0-4. I haven't tested everything but it's quite possible that block gates are the only thing that's missing the restriction on subcolor.

I should've been more specific - this includes before any of these hacks were even started. Around the time I got into the editor.Qloof234 wrote:I've always been able to set the gate's subcolour beyond 0 to 4. Methinks it would make the game crash, though.
It isn't something that just happened with installing all these hacks, as far as I know.
Re
I know why buttons subcolor can't go further than 4: Do you remember color ID formula?
500 + color*5 + subcolor
Look for this: 500 + red*5 + subcolor 5 = 500 + 0 + 5 = 505
500 + orange*5 + subcolor 0 = 500 + 5 + 0 = 505
This button will be able to open both gates.
500 + color*5 + subcolor
Look for this: 500 + red*5 + subcolor 5 = 500 + 0 + 5 = 505
500 + orange*5 + subcolor 0 = 500 + 5 + 0 = 505
This button will be able to open both gates.

Precisely. That's why the subcolor function was restricted to number "4".

Didn't you say this before already? The answer is NO. My changes to the Editor have no effect on modifier range checks, and I explicitly tested downloading the Editor from Midnight Synergy's website again onto a computer that never has the Editor installed. The result is that for most objects, Subcolor is restricted from 0 to 4, except color block gates.AJQZC wrote:Perhaps the restriction is only for the original Editor and was removed on cbloopy's hacked Editor?
In other words, nothing changed in Emerald141's Editor. It's just that he didn't notice this quirk until now, since the subcolor restriction does work on other object types.
End of story.
