Well actually I thought maybe someone else would also give it a try. At the moment I only know 2 riddles to post and one of them is a bit like the one with the coins which were weighted, and I think it's much too easy. The other one is quite different and maybe too easy too, but anyhow, here it is:

A woman is on the funeral of her mother where she met a man who she's talking with for a while. When she's back home, she realizes that she's totally in love with that man, but she doesn't know his name, adress, phone number, nothing. A few weeks later she kills her sister. Why?

I've seen that riddle (and the answer) before, so I am going to pass.

Very, very dark riddle. It's quite simple actually, logic-wise. It's just that the answer is so ridiculously dark that some people (including me) simply can't imagine something that dark.
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

Maybe you're right about that Muzo. If someone would give it a try, think logical but not social.

Anyhow, here is the other one, but as I said before: it's too easy. (I don't know anything better)

There are 10 woodworkers who are supposed to cut the trees in pieces of exactly 1 kilogram. 9 of them do so, but 1 of them always makes pieces of only 900 gram.

Now the boss wants to know which of the 10 people makes the 900 gram-pieces. He uses a big weighing scale (not a balance) and he can get from any of the ten people as many pieces wood as he wants.

How can he know which of the 10 people makes the 900 gram pieces, by weighing only once?

Hope this is correct:

Let's number the ten people from 1 to 10. Get 1 piece from woodworker 1, 2 pieces from woodworker 2 ... 10 pieces from woodworker 10. Put all the wood pieces on the weighing scale.

If everyone cuts them in pieces of 1 kg, the boss should get 45 kg. If number 1's piece is short of 100g, the boss will get 45-(1x100)g. If number 2's two pieces are short of 100g each, the boss will get 45-(2x100)g. In that way, it is easy to find out the odd one out.

And...here are my questions.

1. Where can 2/4 and 4/4 never be simplified into their simplest terms?
2. What are the things that you will usually never get blamed for breaking?
3. Why is somebody late in a meeting? (Give an explanation that is definitely correct in any case)
4. The driver of a lorry full of steel beams knocked down a boy. Why are there no injuries nor casualties?

Just asking, what's that you're talking about?

Marinus had a different riddle before. This one:
A woman is on the funeral of her mother where she met a man who she's talking with for a while. When she's back home, she realizes that she's totally in love with that man, but she doesn't know his name, adress, phone number, nothing. A few weeks later she kills her sister. Why?
Answer: to see him again. It's logically understandable, if you think about it, but it's a hard thing to imagine.

2. Break ice?

Other than 2, all of them sounds like a HongKongish riddle.

That's both correct.

May I assume that my answer about the baskets was also correct?
AJQZC wrote:And...here are my questions.

4. The driver of a lorry full of steel beams knocked down a boy. Why are there no injuries nor casualties?
1. I was thinking about wheels of a car or such, for I thought that 2 of the 4 wheels are not 1/2 of something, but then I realized that's not correct. As a matter of fact it is 1/2 of the surface, the car touches the ground with. So right now I've no idea.

2. I think something figurative, like breaking a heart, or breaking the silence, breaking the ice. Or in case it's someone's job to break things, like breaking stones.

3. No idea. Just a matter of difference in time.

4. Is this a bit similar to your riddle about the car racer? Maybe knocking down is meant figurative like in a game, and the lorry has nothing to do with it?

Edit: I forgot to refresh the page so I gave the same anwer as you Tyteen (break ice) BTW, are Hong-Kong-ish riddles much harder then just riddles?

Edit2:

About #1: In music measures. A 2/2 measure is not the same as a 4/4.

That's correct. :)
For Question 2, it's just a matter of word play.

Just an edit to Question 4: "The driver of a lorry full of steel beams travels at high speed and knocked down a boy. Why are there no injuries nor casualties?"

I think that's true, but it's no answer to the question though. You're just saying the same thing with other words. On the other hand I have no answer either.

#4. The boy was also in the driver's cabin, so the driver hit him with his hand, not with the lorry.

:D

Indeed, for these questions are "tricky puzzles", there are no definite solutions (or rather, many solutions).
Here are my solutions...see if you agree with them.
1. You cannot simplify 2/4 and 4/4 in musical terms.
2. You will never be blamed for breaking a school sports record (on the good side, of course).
3. Because everyone else arrived early (in comparison).
4. The driver was running the 100m in the stadium and knocked down a spectator.

I agree, tricky puzzles don't necessary have only one answer, but I think the puzzles Muzozavr and I posted only had one. I also agree with the answers to 1, 2 and 4, but I think you'd better have given more information directly after my post:
4. Is this a bit similar to your riddle about the car racer? Maybe knocking down is meant figurative like in a game, and the lorry has nothing to do with it?
For in my opinion I was right there, although I didn't give the complete answer.

I think there's no correct answer to question 3; your answer is just saying the same in different words, just like:
-Q Why is an elephant bigger then a mouse?
-A Because a mouse is smaller.
-Q OK, but why is a mouse smaller then?
-A Because an elephant is bigger.
Doesn't make really sense, does it?

On the other hand we had fun trying to figure out these questions. Thanks! :D

February 30, 1972 because it only existed in Sweden and only happened once in human history.

Read here:
http://www.naturalistsalmanac.com/0230.html

Aside from this little freak accident Feb 29 occurs only in leap years. So it is a less likely birthday than any other date, aside from the accident of Feb 30.

Let's give this a try:

Statements
1. Some Aounces are Bounces.
2. No Xounces are Bounces.
3. Gounces are either Aounces or Founces.
4. All Pounces are Bounces.
5. All Aounces are Pounces.
6. Some Founces are Aounces.
7. All Xounces are Gounces.
8. No Bounces are Founces.
9. All Xounces are Aounces.
10. Some Pounces are Xounces.
11. Some Pounces are Gounces.
12. Some Aounces are Xounces.

Questions
1. If Statements 1 to 4 are true:
a) Evaluate the other statements. Which ones are true (false)?
b) Evaluate: do Statements 5 and 12 directly contradict each other?

... (more coming soon)

SOLVED.

I think one idea for a variety of puzzles would be puzzles with a certain wefight related theme. This isn't random, though-Doctor Lies tells lies, and Doctor Truth tells truth. These characters have already been introduced, and are the same person. Doctor Yes only says yes, and Doctor No only says no. I intend to introduce a team of all four later in wefight. I think interesting puzzles could be made involving getting information out of them using only yes or no questions, not including those that are unrelated with fixed answers like 'Is Bob named Bob?' These puzzles will require updates though, to post the answers.
